overall I had a nice time at AMD. Its a good company to work for. I recommend this to all the co-ops and interns.

we are not facebook Google or qualcomm. This is Pretty standard in the industry. Worst is no special event days off such as wedding days off I guess.

The vacation (20 days a year) given is really nice and the company (in the US) usually shuts down the week of Thanksgiving. The healthcare plans offered are "ok" but they are better than what you would get at a small company.

The worst thing (and it wasn't that bad for me) were site wide mandatory vacations, using our accrued vacation days.

On-site gym was very good and convenient with nice staff. AMD's benefits are average in general.

vacation policy changed, vacation hours cannot be accumulated anymore, a lot of people were unhappy with this change

Nothing great package covered everything I could think of. Only downside was they eliminated the Sabbatical the year I started

They offered a great health care package at a reasonable month rate. Depending on the group, they were also flexible with working from home.

Insurance and benefits seem very good to me. Not super expensive and lots of choice on doctors, etc. with the health insurance.

Current Senior Member of Technical Staff in San Jose, California

AMD's benefits package is competitive with other semiconductor companies in the Silicon Valley.
It provides 401k matching, 401k plan, average vacation policy and average medical coverage.
