    Free snacks and drinks in the kitchen is always stocked, fresh fruit is delivered to the Foster City Office every Monday and Wednesday. 401(k) match with 100% immediately vested is awesome!

    The working from home policy (at least a day a week) is one of the thing I like the most at Guidewire.

    The BEST thing is the absolutely huge flexibility in work time/schedule that people in engineering (dev/QA/PM) get; this company takes flex time, and work/life balance very seriously. I have no idea if that's as true in other departments.

    There's no real "worst" thing in terms of strict benefits, although the questions below ask about a bonus and the combination of lowish salaries (at least for existing employees) and a large portion of our cash compensation in cash bonus is probably the worst thing about working here in general.

    Tangible benefits are reasonably generous and overall pretty typical mid-size silicon valley company package. Health benefits (for CA/HQ based folks; no idea in other states) are good, and a very good company contribution for the employee with a decent level for spouse/kids -- choice of Kaiser or Blue-whichever, and the Blue-whichever has a choice of PPO/HMA or HSA-compatible plan. Decent, if not especially generous, 401(k) match, and the usual range of FSA options.

    There's a small free gym on site (for HQ-based employees) and a discount at a larger gym (with pool) nearby. There are the usual free snacks and roughly monthly team lunches. No day-to-day free lunch, although there are plenty of eating places nearby.

    There's no company-paid maternity/paternity leave, although CA employees are eligible for the CA PFL and there is a lot of flexibility about time -- I know plenty of people who took more time off than the state/federal-mandatory FMLA/CFLA requirements and the company was fine with it.
