Love that they paid the health benefits and partial to cover family members. Paychecks are paid weekly.

Johnson Controls benefits are comprehensive and competitive with the marketplace. Of the things that aren't so good about JCI, the benefits aren't one of them.

Overall, the benefits are ok. to work for a company that owns the insurance company, I sure do get a lot of bills in the mail.

Generous health insurance, and 401k match, but only awarded annually (not monthly).

Worst: High medical Deductible ($1200) with no HSA option- and the benefit premium doubled from 2013 to 2014, minimal vacation time (2 weeks- no carryover), MetLife dental (no actual benefit card).
Best thing was Prime Fitness-- large fitness network for only $25/month w/your choice of going to which ever ones how many times (talk to inidividual facility for restrictions).

Vacation time accrual is sub-par for employers in this area with similar scope of business (10 days from hire-5 years, 12 days from 5-7 years, 15 days from 7-15 years, 20 days for 15 years+). No vacation can roll into future years. 401k match is 4% max if you contribute at least 6%. Health insurance through BCBS of Illinois.
