    Postdocs get all their vacation and sick time up front at their contract renewal. However there is no real maternity leave, you have to use all of your vacation and sick time to get paid during any time you take off.

    Pretty awesome benefits. People work for MDACC for the retirement benefits including Teacher Retirement System as it is part of the Univ of Texas system.

    Since MDACC is apart of the UT System, all employees are classified as "state employees". With that said, benefits are awesome. MDACC pays for the monthly health insurance premium of every full-time employee, which saves us thousands of dollars a year. They offer longevity pay and match the 6% you contribute to the TRS (retirement). They offer up to 6wks vacation time and also flex 9/80 scheduling.
