    Health insurance comes in 2 flavors at SLB and you are signed up for the entire year- life changes like having a kid or getting married allow you to change mid year (usually to the higher monthly, lower deductible plan). I found the insurance to be pretty well accepted, but definitely took lots of initial calling around and research to find providers that fully accepted the plans in Houston.

    Company does use its leverage to get great benefits, but they dont do a great job at advertising them. Do some research. There are discounts for almost every essential need.

    They matched 401K up to a certain amount. , They offered a discount stock purchase plan where you choose a certain amount to be withheld from your paycheck and at the end of 6 months they automatically purchased stock with a 7% discount.
