The health and dental options are great, as well as the opportunity to participate in a tax-advantaged flexible spending account for healthcare expenses.

Cost of insurance coverage is increasing while benefits are decreasing, this is not unique to the company, but a symptom of healthcare costs rising and business trying to drive down costs.

Company announced that they will not be matching our 401K plan effective immediately through the rest of 2014. It will commence 2015 with a 3% match (reduced from the 4% the company always offered in the past).
Plan participants - vested time required (amount of time to be on the job in order to collect the company match) is 5 years and unless the plan participant indicates otherwise, the company automatically increases the amount withdrawn from each paycheck - to be deposited into the company 401K plan, each October.

Benefits are okay. PTO is good after 5 years and is the best thing (IMO) about Truven's benefit package. Health Insurance is pretty expensive. My wife's company's free plan is as good as or better than the paid plans at Truven. 401K matching just decreased from 4% to 3%. Tuition reimbursement is the federal limit which is better than nothing but definitely not as good as other companies I've worked for. Maternity leave is okay. Paternity leave is better than most companies (1 week paid), but the US sets a shamefully low bar for maternity/paternity leave policies compared to other countries.

9/19- Just announced: Truven has decided to eliminate their 401k company match through the end of 2014 and start with a reduced match in 2015 (3% instead of 4%).

Very lucrative vacation policy, match 401k up to 4%, full benefits package. Will receive a phone/laptop if the job requires.

Good Paid Time Off, Health Insurance is Expensive and each year more so, tuition reimbursement is minimal (but better than nothing). Overall, pretty good with some gaps. Biggest gap is employee development and training.
