Great variety to pick from, but it is kind of pricey.

Ability to take time off for long periods of time yields a great quality of life

Extremely flexible working schedule, all federal holidays off, decent annual time off, lots of selection in health insurance plans, the TSP (federal employee equivalent of 401k) is extremely cheap.

The best thing is the 401K. You can really sock away. The old fers system was much better (which was an actual pension system). Those things changed now ... so that is the way it goes. The health care program is also very good ... just sign up for a doctor within a metro distance within the office.

Pros: Flexible work schedules. Full-time telework available after 2 years (from anywhere in US). Matching contributions to TSP (401k) up to 5%. Good annual leave and sick leave. Performance based awards/bonuses. Con: Challenging job

Great 401k match, 13 days sick, 13 days vacation per year. Defined benefit pension plan is excellent, as is the availability of different health insurance plans. Gym onsite, but not free. Daycare onsite, not free. Work at home program saves thousands of dollars per year on commute, and hundreds of hours. Fantastic benefits.

Sick leave for bereavement, family medical, maternity, etc. Annual leave for anything else. Flexible work schedule and teleworking
