The recruiter and I negotiated the annual bonus, pension, and stock options as part of my salary. However, he misrepresented that I needed to be there 5 years to "vest" in order to have access to these. Also, 2 days after I started, he came back and said they needed to downgrade my salary AND my title, as that particular unit had a salary cap and could not have that particular salary. Get everything in writing, and save your documentation! Don't believe anything that's not provided in writing. I also discovered upon arrival that I had no direct reports, and would not be given permission to hire the team, as discussed/promised in the interview. Worst job relocation ever.

Former Compliance Consultant in Charlotte, North Carolina

The best things were a zero deductible health insurance plan, healthcare reimbursement, tuition reimbursement, training courses offered, work/life balance, and volunteer hours.

Did not personally have health benefits with Wachovia. Heard from co-workers that their benefits were alright. They weren't the best, but they weren't bad.

Comprehensive offerings...very expensive, especially considering Wachovia has 90k+ employees. Hoping merger with Wells Fargo provides more cost-effective options.
