I applied online – interviewed at ABB Group.

Started with a phone screen with a non-technical person who just asked questions that were easily answered on my resume he had in front of him. Played phone tag with the guy before getting an on-site interview. On site interview was typical entry level software questions involving data structures mostly.

    Interview Questions
    • The questions weren't very difficult if you didn't lie on your resume. They were clear and to the point about what they expected you to know about the specific technologies. A lot of HR type questions grilling your performance in school. They seemed to care more about the one bad mark you obtained rather than the 99 good marks. Overall not a bad interview.   Answer Question

Basic Questions of tell me about yourself, what do you know about the company, where do you see yourself in three years, what would your manager say about yourself, give me an example about troubleshooting, do you work good in a team or by yourself and what do you know about Subsystems? HR person was not very friendly and I thought it was the personally test to see how I would react. He did not seem to want to be there. They also don't call you or inform you if you did not get the job. It is like one of those dates of don't call me, I will call you. There is no follow up. I sent two emails and receive nothing. Then after calling, I was told it was filled. I thought their process was rude and unprofessional. Overall my other two interviewers were nice. I would give them 3.5 stars out of 5.

I partecipated to the assessment, that is the first step of selection. It consists of three step: a personal interview with classical questions about your past life, an english discussion about a business case and a group interview about another business case. It is not a very difficult interview and the recruiters are very friendly. A technical interview follows in case of positive success of the assessment.

The first stage is about the assessment day. Almost 100 students are split into groups to do presentation. The presentation topic was quite generic. Each group were given a room and 30 minutes to discuss on that topic. Then each group will take turn to present the topic to the panel. The panel only consists of HR and some previous batch graduate engineers.

I sent my cv through a job ad and I've been called back by randstad. They told me I was chosen for an assessment in ABB. I had to pass an online english test which it was not difficult at all, after that I attended this assessment, which I can say was not technical at all. Just motivational and psicological questions and a team work task
