Business Analyst Interview (Neutral Experience)
I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at AECOM.
Interview Details – One phone interview, and one in person interview with 2 managers in enterprise applications department. Phone interview was fairly easy, but in person interview require more of you being assertive and telling them about your skills and qualifications, rather than waiting for them to ask you questions.
Interview Question – How would you deal with a difficult member on your team? Answer Question
Civil Engineer Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and interviewed at AECOM.
Interview Details – Pretty standard interview. We talked about my resume and asked me to elaborate on my experiences. Didn't really ask technical questions. They really want people that have a passion for sustainable design solution, and really value people with strong communication skills.
Interview Question – What sets you apart from other applicants? Answer Question
Senior Positiion Interview (Negative Experience; Easy Interview)
I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at AECOM in March 2014.
Interview Details – This is the worst decision I have ever made to apply a job with Aecom. A few days after my first interview with the landscape manager, I was told they were offering me a senior position and I received an oral offer one week later.
However they have made me waited for a month and I didn't heard from them, so I called the HR to find out my status, they told me the hiring process is taking too long and I should move on if I am still looking for a job, because they are not sure when this application be approved.
Honestly I have done research on Aecom, there are too many negative comment to read and I should have trusted myself it is a red flag.
Interview Question – They brought a junior designer to interview and the manager left her interview me alone for work in 2 hours. She asked me random questions and that is when I believe their employee is not as professional as I expected. Answer Question
Treasury Manager Interview (Neutral Experience)
Interviewed at AECOM
Interview Details – In Nov 2013, I had a phone interview with an HR/Talent Acquisition person. He was about 15 minutes late and did not have my resume, cover letter or bio information in front of him. After scrambling around for a few minutes we proceeded. He asked the following questions:
Have I been promoted at my current company or was I hired at the level I am at right now
What do I do in my current role
Why I want to leave my current company
What challenges I face in my current role
What I am looking to do in the future
My current salary package
The interview was about 20 minutes. I felt like he was rushing through it and not very engaged. Overall, the phone interview dampened a position and company I was otherwise very interested in.
Interview Question – What challenges I face in my current role Answer Question
Very Easy Interview
Entry Level Bridge Engineer Interview (Neutral Experience; Very Easy Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took 12 months - interviewed at AECOM.
Interview Details – Met senior technical recruiter at college campus career fair one year prior to initial phone interview. Following phone interview, four months passed before notification of an in person interview. Multiple phone calls and emails were made to the senior technical recruiter seeking an answer to an employment decision. After a month and half of waiting, contact was made again to the same recruiter and was told position was either cancelled or put on hold.
Intelligence Analyst Interview (Neutral Experience)
I applied in-person and the process took a day - interviewed at AECOM in June 2011.
Interview Details – 1 interview and after few weeks departed to afghanistan
Interview Question – how would i be taken care of once i go oconus? Answer Question
Manager Interview (Negative Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and interviewed at AECOM.
Interview Details – Applied online and received a call from their corporate recruiter within a few days. Initial phone screen conducted with recruiter and an in person 1:1 interview was scheduled. Feedback from 1:1 was received within 2 business days and a second interview was scheduled for a few days later. Second interview was with 3 different people, 30 minutes each.
Overall experience started out quickly and on a positive note but ended rather unprofessionally on their end.
Emailed corporate recruiter twice over the course of a couple weeks, emails went completely unanswered. Received a voicemail from the recruiter about three weeks after 2nd interview and returned the call within the hour, no answer, no response to voicemail message. Called the next morning, recruiter answered but sounded surprised and asked if we could set an appointment to speak for later in the afternoon. Appointment time was agreed on, recruiter never called.
To this day I still do not know why the recruiter wanted to set an appointment or what the final outcome of the position was. Disappointed in the poor communication and lack of professionalism. I wouldn't expect to see this from senior recruiters recruiting for management level candidates.
Interview Question – Nothing unexpected. Primarily focused on resume content and past work experience. Answer Question
Economist Interview (Positive Experience; Easy Interview)
I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at AECOM in August 2013.
Interview Details – Got a surprise evening call from a recruiter. She asked if I applied for the position and verified my identity. From there, she launched straight into a screening that felt more like a phone interview. If you apply, be on your toes! I got a call the same day to go in for an in-person interview three days later. It all happened very quickly, but it took forever to get feedback afterward.
Entry-level Transportation Engineer Interview (Neutral Experience)
Interviewed at AECOM
Interview Details – I talked to the recruiter at the career fair, and I followed up with him right after the career fair to make sure he still remember me and told him I gad applied online. After two weeks, I sent him an email to follow up, and eventually got an interview from him. I am still waiting for the interview.
Interview Question – Since I have not had the interview yet, I do not have any unexpected questions. However, I know that I will meet with more than 6 engineers in two hours. It seems a little bit stressful. Answer Question
