The process took a day - interviewed at AMD in June 2012.

Interview Details – I applied online at AMD's website for a lot of different co-op positions. A recruiter emailed me in mid-early June and set up a phone interview. I was on speaker phone with two interviewers. I had done a lot of research with the company, and I think they were impressed that I knew a lot about their products.

The process took 2 days - interviewed at AMD in December 2011.

Interview Details – The interview was for the position of Co-op engineer for the Spring semester. I had submitted my resume to University Relations long back and seeing a match for my academic projects with the job requirement, the Hiring Manager called me first and took phone interview. It was a perfect match for my projects and the work that I would have to do at AMD. So he was pretty much convinced and told me an other senior engineer would take me interview. There was time constraints so this happened 2 days later and the senior engineer asked mostly technical questions from C++, Verilog, Computer Architecture, Algorithms and also told me to explain the Academic projects in detail. The interview lasted an hour. I think they were impressed by me, So I got the offer by the next day.

Negotiation Details – As this was for Internship, there was no negotiating. AMD offers very competitive salary for interns along with relocation bonus which was very good.

I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at AMD in June 2011.

Interview Details – First, I got a call from HR and asked for the my availability. The HR wasn't interested in giving out his email id for further contact. He told me he'll get back to me in order to set-up the interview with the interviewers.
After waiting for 3 days without any contact, interviewer from AMD suddenly called me out of no-where and started the interview process by asking questions related to my projects on resume.
Had a satisfactory interview with the interviewer who was also hesitant to give his contact details, still managed to take his email id in order to send him a thank you letter/ followup letter.

Even after weeks no one called/ notified me about my status despite my weekly follow-up.

Interview Question – Effect of voltage source on operating bandwidth of a folded cascode   Answer Question

I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at AMD in December 2010.

Interview Details – My current manager emailed me couple days ahead asking me if I'm available to work during Spring term. The phone interview was quickly scheduled 5 days later to give me enough time to prepare. The interview was mostly technical questions but also consists of soft skills questions and behavioral questions. The manager was honest about what the competition is like for the position as well as his expectations for a person at my position. Overall, it was a good experience. They made an offer couple days later and it's for continuing in Summer term as well.

The process took 2 days - interviewed at AMD in March 2011.

Interview Details – The interview lasted about an hour, and I was interviewed for half an hour by each interviewer. I was asked technical question relating to transistor cross sections and logic design. It was a fairly laid back interview and the questions were only moderately difficult at times.

In addition to the technical questions, I was asked how I would describe a transistor to someone with no engineering background. This was aimed at testing communication skills as well as creativity.

Interview Question – How would you change this CMOS inverter to either reduce leakage or decrease delay?   Answer Question
