    Application

I applied through an employee referral – interviewed at AMD (Sunnyvale, CA).

    Interview

Standard interview questions for programming job. One debugging question. One recursion question. One problem with using gates (come up with some logic). About 6 people. 1 person takes you for lunch at the cafeteria. Hiring process was overall ok. I got proper phone and/or email updates during the process. overall experience was ok. Interviewers were sort of "normal" in the sense that they weren't intimidating nor ultra friendly - just had a normal interviewer poker face.

The process took 2 daysinterviewed at AMD (Sunnyvale, CA) in December 2011.

    Interview

The interview was for the position of Co-op engineer for the Spring semester. I had submitted my resume to University Relations long back and seeing a match for my academic projects with the job requirement, the Hiring Manager called me first and took phone interview. It was a perfect match for my projects and the work that I would have to do at AMD. So he was pretty much convinced and told me an other senior engineer would take me interview. There was time constraints so this happened 2 days later and the senior engineer asked mostly technical questions from C++, Verilog, Computer Architecture, Algorithms and also told me to explain the Academic projects in detail. The interview lasted an hour. I think they were impressed by me, So I got the offer by the next day.

    Software Engineer Co Op Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took a weekinterviewed at AMD (Sunnyvale, CA) in March 2011.

    Interview

I was interviewed for a software position for summer internship. Got three phone interviews. First one was with the manager and he gave a brief description about the position and the work and some behavioral questions. After a couple of days, I got an email from him that I passed his screening and he asked me to schedule interviews with two other team members.
The interviews with the team members were purely technical. I was asked to code in a shared document. They tested on bitwise manipulations and assembly language. Though I didnt know exact mnemonics, but the interviewer said he will look at the logic and not the instructions.
The interviews were not very difficult, easy enough if you know some details of C and computer architecture. I didn't have any onsite interview perhaps because it was an intern position thats why.

    Interview Questions

    • There was a question about bit manipulations in C, do not remember exactly.   Answer Question
