    I applied online – interviewed at AT&T.

    Interview Details

I submitted an application online and then was called a few days later to set up for an interview. There was a bit of a pre interview over the phone, just small talk interview questions and scheduling questions. I came to the scheduled interview a few days later everyone was very friendly and up beat. Seemed like a great place to work. I was informed to call back and bug the person who interviewed me and that i was pretty much going to get the job.

IT TAKES SO LONGGGG just to get an interview. I got a response from Verizon from before At&T. I thought it would have been the other way around. I heard they were a great company work for.

It went by pretty quick. After I applied online the process took 2 weeks until I took my assessment test. Then they scheduled me for an in-person interview 1 week after I took my test. The interview was straight forward. 10 questions (customer service related/sales related). Basically the typical what would you do in certain situation type questions. Then we did some role playing. Basically he was playing the customer and I was the representative and I'm suppose to make a sale to the customer. The interview was about 45 mins long.

I liked everything from start to finish a very interactive process. They pretty much went through how your typical day would be.I had a panel of two interviewers and they all took turns in asking me questions. At one point a senior manager walked in and also had some questions for me.I was also asked to do some role plays and also sale a cable tv to some one who has never heard of it.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ monthsinterviewed at AT&T.

    Interview Details

I was contacted about a month after I applied. The first interview was with an HR recruiter, second was with a store manager, the third was with the store manager and district manager. It was a pretty simple process, with all the interviews going over sales questions and being told to sell yourself.

Stressful. Takes forever. USE THEIR WEBSITE FOR INTERVIEW TIPS!! It's literally all right there. Seriously, read the website. The interview is exactly like the website. It is literally your own fault if you don't read the website. There's an option called "Interview Tips". Start there. The process takes several weeks. I gave up hope after I interviewed as it took almost a month before they reached out to me.

Honestly, think of the interview as a sale. You are selling yourself. Think "How would I sell this to a customer?". This interview is your customer, convince them to buy you. Good luck.

    Retail Sales Consultant Interview

I applied online. The process took 3 daysinterviewed at AT&T in January 2015.

    Interview Details

I went onto the AT&T careers page. I submitted my information and resume. I was then invited to take an assessment. I passed the initial assessment. Then I got another assessment about honesty and drug use; I failed that assessment. The assessments use psychological tests to "weed" people out.

If you normally fail personality tests for jobs like Target, Macy's, Walmart, etc..., then this is much worse and I pray for you.

If you are a person that always tries to do the right thing, you are put at a disadvantage because the social desirability measure essentially calls you a liar. For instance, if you say that you try not to litter, they will assume that you are lying. If you say that you have never thought about stealing money from work, they will think that you are lying; I have never worked in a job that had money so how can they call me a liar when I say that I didn't have thoughts about stealing it?

If you are completely honest with them and your thoughts and opinions don't line up, good luck...

The only way to pass this assessment is to trick the system. Even if you don't litter, admit to it because they think that everyone litters... I have only been able to pass one of these so called psychological tests once at Macy's in 2011.

T-Mobile and Sprint's interview process is way more straightforward and probably has more validity to the retail shopping experience; they just want to know how good of a sales person you would be and they do not assume that their potential employees are inherently dishonest. Really AT&T, do you think that you can predict when a person will steal using a poorly constructed survey? I probably can answer that because numerous self-reported employees and customers claim that AT&T is an expert on stealing money from its dwindling fan base.

The only positive thing to this process was that they kept good communication and feedback; they let you know immediately if you are still being considered or not.

Applied online and did questionnaire, which was long. Contacted by recruiter, and scheduled a call center test. After, was contacted for a phone interview w/ other recruiter, which then scheduled an in person interview. Once passed that in person interview, was scheduled for a language proficiency test for spanish on the phone. Normal drug tests as well. Process took about a month.
