Logistics Manager Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and the process took 3 months - interviewed at Abbott Labs in March 2014.
Interview Details – Very thorough and straightforward. This was a very professional environment and all of the people I encountered were pleasant and helpful. I enjoyed my interactions with them and would have loved being a member of their team.
Interview Question – None, all were conducive to the posted position and the experience they were seeking to fulfill the requirements. Answer Question
CAPA QA Coordinator Interview (Neutral Experience; Difficult Interview)
I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Abbott Labs.
Interview Details – I have interviewed with the Abbott Nutritional plant in Alta Vista, VA twice. The first for a job that I had no experience with (production management), and the second for a CAPA QA position which I have a LOT of experience with. The first time I rotated around to several different people. The second time I was in one room with 4 different people. Both times the questions were from Targeted Selection.
Interview Question – I find all Targeted Selection questions hard because you have to give examples and there is a certain pattern to your answers that they are looking for. I find the question "give me an example of how you have been innovative" to be a hard one because what is considered innovative at one company may be common place at another company. Answer Question
Finance Intern Interview (Neutral Experience)
Interviewed at Abbott Labs
Interview Details – Submitted my resume at a University Career Fair. Was contacted a week later to have an on campus interview with a director and manager. Mostly behavioral questions and very laid back. The interviewers emphasized that they wanted to make sure I was a good fit for Abbott, and Abbott was a good fit for me, which was nice.
Interview Question – In ten years time at Abbott, what are three things you would have hoped to accomplished Answer Question
Statistician Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through a staffing agency and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Abbott Labs in May 2013.
Interview Details – One person interviewed me on the phone. After a week he called me for face to face interview. Four people, one person on conference interviewed me. They asked me many questions about Base SAS and some statistics questions. They went through my resume and asked me about the projects I did. They asked me if I have a plan to continue my education. They ask specific SAS questions; SAS functions, macro, some data step and proc step questions.
Interview Question – I don't remember specific questions but someone with SAS certificate will get the job for sure. Answer Question
Associate Engineer Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and the process took 5 days - interviewed at Abbott Labs.
Interview Details – I was contacted on a Friday afternoon from the Illinois HR department about a phone interview that took place the following Tuesday with someone who worked within the Dallas branch. The interview itself was very straight forward and there seemed to be no tricks to the question. Most of the questions were behavioral questions. I thought I did well on the interview, but I think the ended up going with someone who had more experience for the entry level position.
Interview Question – Some questions ask for more personal experiences with the tasks and material the job entailed. Since the job description was a little vague, I wasn't as prepared for those questions. Answer Question
Bio Statistician Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through a recruiter - interviewed at Abbott Labs in March 2013.
Interview Details – one phone interview (about half an hour), and one on site interview (about 2 hours and a half). In the onsite interview, there are 6 interviewer totally.
Interview Question – technique questiones, mainly on survival analysis and regression, not too difficult although not easy to answer Answer Question
Senior IT Program Manager Interview (Negative Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and the process took 3+ months - interviewed at Abbott Labs in July 2012.
Interview Details – Way to stretched and several weeks and then eternal wait to hear Y/N. It baffles me that dozen people scrutinize you and end up spending several weeks and nothing comes out of it. In the meantime you also lose other opportunities. It is puzzling.
Interview Question – Not much of difficulty just have relevant skills and be balanced. Answer Question
Field Service Engineer Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and the process took 6 weeks - interviewed at Abbott Labs in August 2012.
Interview Details – Had a couple of brief phone interviews and the a face-to-face. It was a behavioral interview with two interviewers. I felt the in-person interview was poorly paced; they rushed me through answers that required a bit of explanation and seemed to be looking for more to questions that seemed simple (and ridiculous).
Interview Question – Name a time when you were able to personally capitalize on a situation at work. View Answers (2)

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 4 weeks - interviewed at Abbott Labs in August 2011.
Interview Details – Interview was arranged by the recruiting agency. When I got there they said that the person interviewing me was out that day so another team lead would interview me. That person said they did not know what the position is for so they could not tell much. Then they asked me a few questions and then the interview was over and they said they would get back to me. The recruiter never got back to me. I had to call them to find out that someone else was hired.
