    Manager In Training Interview

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 daysinterviewed at Abercrombie & Fitch.

    Interview Details

Straight forward interview (scripted) dealing with background and past job experiences. Primarily examples of when I was in a leadership or management position in the past and how well I performed. Attire was casual...pretty much anything from the store, I was told to wear jeans and a t-shirt with converse if I had them. The interview was with the district manager, I had expected to work at a more convenient location than I was assigned and somewhat misled. I was fully expecting to work in the location that I was recruited, where the application was submitted, and where the interview took place. When I was offered the position, I requested a day to think it over, and the next day I accepted....only to find out they expected me to work in a location about 20 minutes farther away.

Not much room to negotiate. I was offered a salary of $31,000.00/yr but in reality it was only $14.90/hr (relatively easy to get a few hours of over time though). I highly recommend requesting a written offer with the salary and benefits completely written out and documented before signing any contract.

I applied through college or university. The process took 6 weeksinterviewed at Abercrombie & Fitch.

    Interview Details

My first interview was on campus and fairly simple. It was mostly just a nice talk with The represetative. My second interview was over Skype and it was really fun and engaging. I really enjoyed talking with the interviewers. Very relaxed. It took about 4 weeks to hear back after my second interview possibly because the holiday followed by interviews.

Brief. Lasted roughly 5 minutes, done in a group. Basically they asked you questions you would expect like why their store? If you consider yourself outgoing? Describe yourself in 3 words etc

    Assistant Store Manager Interview

You start out in an interview as a manager in training (MIT). The interview is with one of the company's District Managers. It is very casual, very laid-back. Most of the questions were to get a feel for your personality - who you are, where are you from, what you like to do, etc. The interview is VERY casual. Do NOT wear dress clothes. Wear a polo or woven shirt, jeans, and a t-shirt - seriously. They really look for people who are "brand-positive" and fit their easy-going lifestyle.

Fairly quick process. Interview last about 30 minutes. Really need to be aware of the brands style and can explain why you want to work for the the company. They go over the mamager in training position with you and what you'll be learning each week.

applied and interviewed same week, they are always looking for managers. Interview was one on one and felt like a conversation more than an interview. Dress casual! They want to get a better picture of how you would look in their clothes so it would be best to take a look at what they have in store and wear something similar to that. Mostly experience questions, describe a time when you worked really well with someone, describe a time when it was difficult to work with someone... 99% of the time will ask what your definition of diversity is and if its important in the work place. Part of their hiring criteria is to be great looking, but in a natural way so not too much make up.

Attractive and must have bachelors degree. Mainly they will just focus on how attractive you are. Even if stores are understaffed across the district they will say no to perfectly good candidates who are not attractive. Ive been told that potential mangers have had terrible interviews but still gathered because they are attractive. I was also told that candidates can be taught all of the other criteria as long as they look good. This basically renders the process strictly to how you look during your first interview.

The interview will most likely be a group interview, so just be sure to stand out. It's very simple. Just be outgoing and confident. After they call you for the position, you will have to attend an orientation, also very simple.

Easy interview right in store. Grouped session. Expected to hire a lot of people due to turnover. Met with manager and assistant manager. We received a tour of the store, nothing in the back. All front store areas that customers are already familiar with. Fun people. Met new friends at interview.
