Management Consulting Consultant, Talent & Organizational Performance Interview

Management Consulting Consultant, Talent & Organizational Performance

I applied online and the process took 2+ weeks - interviewed at Accenture in January 2010.

Interview Details – There were four separate interviews: (Recruiter Phone Screen) They asked questions to elaborate on my resume, previewed next steps in the interview process, and discussed salary expectations; (Phone Interview with a Manager) A manager level consultant discussed my past projects/work experience and asked about specific types of technology I worked with and how I managed my work; (Phone Behavioral Interview) A full time interviewer asked questions about how I handled a specific past situation and asked probing questions to get at specific situations within that overall situation to understand how I handled myself; (In-person with Executive); A Senior Executive asked questions to see if I would fit with Accenture culture and work demands. I met with two execs separately and they seemed less interested in details about my experience and more interested in my work preferences and what I was looking for/expected from an employer and my career. I got the impression that they wanted to make sure I could make the transition into consulting and understood how demanding the job could be at times.

My recruiter was very flexible and easy to communicate with. My interview process was complete in less than three weeks from the time I first heard from the recruiter to my offer. I have read other reviews about the length of the process being longer, so I think it varies based on the amount of hiring going on and how flexible the interviewee is. Also, I think the process differs for college recruits versus experienced hires. I was an experienced hire.

Negotiation Details – I had heard that Accenture did not negotiate salary offers, so I did not try. I was pleased with the offer and was provided a signing bonus to help with relocation expenses.
