Entry Level Infrastructure Consulting Analyst Interview

First completed a phone screen with a recruiter, was told right after that I had made it past. Four days or so later was my scheduled interview on the phone with a woman in Dallas which was behavioral, she actually told me how to answer it (she was very nice & explained the process), but to be honest, you should know the STAR method for answering behaviorals. Then I went to a city separate from the one I was going to work at (I guess they have interviews in groups based on position, not on your desired work location). You learn about the company, then they have 2 interviews a technical one (the guy actually didn't interview me, but we just talked about my formal training, what I could do and what department in Accenture I would be better fitted for) then an informal interview where we just chatted. I ended up getting put in Systems Integration, which was great seeing as I liked that better and I didn't have to interview again.

    Infrastructure Consultant Analyst Interview

    Application Details

I applied through college or university – interviewed at Accenture.

    Interview Details

First Interview: I was invited to a first round interview through on-campus career services. It was a typical interview that dealt with me explaining my resume and experiences. In the waiting room it seemed as if the recruiters were ranking the interviewers covertly.

Second Interview: This was a phone interview that lasted about 45mins. It was a situational/behavorial question set. The best way to navigate this was a be as personable as possible and answering the questions without going off-track.

Final Interview: You get invited for an on-site interview, mine was in NYC. The interview consisted of a opening presentation, then, you meet with two employers for interviews. The interviews seem to be less informal.

I'm still waiting for a job offer response; it has been a week so far.

Infrastructure Management and Systems Administration Interview

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Accenture in June 2010.

    Interview Details

The interview was arranged by a corporate level recruiter. The interview panel was local, two phase, and split between operational personnel and first-line management personnel. It was an unstructured interview based on discussing hypothetical scenarios. It was oral Q&A without an opportunity to white board the scenarios as they developed. It was also a blind interview in three ways: (1) little to nothing about the position and how it was structured was disclosed prior to commencing Q&A; (2) as the interview unfolded it became clear by the Q&A that the interview had little relationship with how the position was advertised on the Accenture site or described by the recruiter; (3) the specific requirements of the position were not later enumerated including how the work would be structured and what the job responsibilities would be. Management personnel were tasked with discussing the scope of the work, organizational structure, overall company objectives, career paths, compensation packages, policy, etc., but were generally reticent to do so. It appeared that local management did not function well with corporate recruitment and candidates suffered from the friction. Indeed, management started off the conversation with "what do you want to know?" Additionally, the Accenture participants did not seem prepared. We had to wait for security to unlock a conference room. The interviewers came with laptops and had to locate and hook-up to A/C and data ports and find suitable seating, with myself sitting amid a bundle of wires and cables across the table from the interviewers. Meanwhile, the manager came late, took phone calls, answered pages, and left the room a number of times during the process, displaying a sort of haughty arrogance and disdain for the interview. It was insulting.

    Interview Questions
    • You have a client that consists of a work group of 50 people that need to do OLTP and/or OLAP to support their department functions. You are tasked with designing a platform to handle these processes in the most operationally efficient and effective way. You are not given technology or cost constraints for this scenario. However, you must conform to certain client requirements, specifically their choice of RDMS and OS. Given these requirements how would you design, configure and implement a suitable HW/SW platform? Explain in detail.   Answer Question
    • If you encountered one or more system building and/or configuration problems in your efforts to meet the client requirements, how would you resolve these issues. For example, if the client's choice of RDMS would not install and operate properly. Explain in detail. (You have no fore-knowledge of how the department functions or the existence of service level agreements for HW/SW systems.)   Answer Question

    Infrastructure Engineer Interview

I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Accenture in May 2012.

    Interview Details

Applied online for the position Infrastructure Engineer. Received a call from Accenture and asked a few general questions about my work background and also about Accenture. As I wasn't expecting a call from Accenture I wasn't prepared to answer questions about Accenture. I managed to say a few points and after hearing those the lady on phone suggested me to look through the website :-) for more information. And asked if i'm interested in proceeding further with interview process. It was an obvious YES from my end and she later emailed with details about the next round which was Skills Test.

Went on time and met this guy who was supposed to interview me. I must say he was very friendly and guided me to the interview room. Once he introduced himself, he started to question about my skills in designing/implementing and factors that you would consider before coming with a solution involving virtualization (VMware). He also asked me explain about my initiation skills and achievements.

I kind of got the confidence that he was totally convinced with my examples and I sensed positive sign's in proceeding to the next stage. I received a call after an hour from the HR dept. saying that I'm through to the next round and it is going to be a PCI (Professional Competency Interview)

Again went on time and met this Senior Manager who interviewed me with nothing but simple questions. I was asked about my career goal and what all it took to me come to this point. And also asked me about the challenges that I faced. I had few good examples to impress him and it all worked.

Later he talked for about 20min about explaining more about Accenture and finally he said that HR dept would get in touch with me.

After an hour or so I got a call that I got selected and will be knowing more details in the coming days.
