Systems Integration Consulting Analyst at Accenture

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Boston, MA Jan 2013 – Reviewed Jan 17, 2013

Interview Details – Applied to on-campus posting and was invited for an on-campus interview in October.

First interview: On-campus interview with a manager. Relatively easy questions such as: Why Accenture, why consulting, what does SI Analyst do, previous work experience, and extracurricular activities.

Second interview: Phone interview with a senior manager. About 4-5 behavioral/situational questions. After your answer, they will ask additional followup questions to get more details.

Final interview: On-site interview with 2 senior managers. Each interview was 45 minutes and was a mix of the first two interviews. Several casual questions such as: why Accenture. And several behavioral. All in all, this had a casual setting and the conversations were built off of your questions.

The entire process was very lengthy (3-4 months) but included Thanksgiving, and Xmas holidays.

Interview Question – Nothing too unexpected, but if you get a behavioral question that you do not have an answer to, don't be afraid to say so and ask for another.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – Didn't negotiate

No Offer – Interviewed in Oct 2012 – Reviewed Jan 17, 2013

Interview Details – Applied through university career website. Accepted for a 1:1 30 minute interview. I did not connect with the interviewer . He acted disinterested and seemed to be waiting for me to give a pitch rather than asking questions to guide the conversation. 10 minutes in he was already talking about what I should do to reach the second round "next time".

To be honest, I wasn't sold on the position going in and had not prepared as stringently as I usually do.Still, the cold and aloof interviewer did not help.

Declined Offer – Reviewed Jan 15, 2013

Interview Details – The interview process was very slow, with one on campus interview and one on site session with multiple interviews. This was for the San Francisco office. After the final interview, it took over a month for decisions to be made. Interview process was purely behavioral, and the 3 that interviewed me (one on campus, two on site) were all very friendly and easy to talk to.

Interview Question – Nothing difficult. There were no case questions or technical questions.   Answer Question

Business Analyst - Management Consulting Development Program at Accenture

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in New York, NY – Reviewed Dec 31, 2012

Interview Details – I applied online to an experienced hire position: Accenture Management Consulting Development Program (MCDP) Business Analyst: Talent and Organization (T&O). This is an experienced hire position rather than the MCDP entry level.

A few weeks after my application, I was contacted by the job posting's recruiter via email to schedule a phone screen. I responded a convenient time for a 30-45 phone screen. There is a time gap of between 1-2 weeks for each of the following interview process steps:

1. A recruiter phone screen about resume, background, experience, skills the why Accenture
3. A manager from the T&O service line conducted a 1 1/2 hour interview: 45 minutes for experience/resume/scenario and another 45 minutes for a case interview.
3. A two hours in-person interview with a manager and a senior manager. The former conducted the case interview and the latter conducted the final confirming (sanity check) interview.

Overall, it was a very positive interview and I felt the communication via the recruiter throughout the process was professional, throughout and informative.

Systems Integration Consultant at Accenture

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in New York, NY Oct 2012 – Reviewed Dec 18, 2012

Interview Details – I applied through my university's career services because Accenture recruits at my school. Each of the interviews were 1-on-1.

I was given a first round on-campus interview through career services. It was a brief 20 minute interview with an HR recruiter about my experiences as an undergraduate student. I was asked about what organizations I was a part of and what jobs/internships I had held as an undergraduate. Those two categories were distinct. I talked about my involvement and leadership with my organization at school. And I talked about the jobs/internships I had held. I mostly included stories of times I had dealt with situations similar to those I would encounter working with Accenture.

I was notified of the next round within the next week. The second round was also on campus, but this time with a manager level executive. This interview was longer, around 45 minutes. I was asked about how I would deal with certain situations and I used my experiences (from my resume) to exemplify how I would deal with those situations. Most of them included "Tell me about a time you had a lot on your plate" or "Tell me about a time you were part of a group and members were difficult to cooperate with".

Within a week of that interview, I was notified of my acceptance for the third round interview. This interview was in their local office closest to my university. This was an exit interview with an office visit. The beginning of this visit consisted of a PowerPoint presentation consultants. The next part consisted of two interviews with manager level executives. The questions were similar to the questions asked during the second round. Each interview was around 45 minutes.

During the third round, there were around 8 students in the morning session and 8 students in the afternoon session that were scheduled. I'm not sure how many of them were given the job. During this round, the executives stressed the willingness to travel for the job.

I finally received an offer call after having waited well over a month. During my 1st interview, I was asked which office I would like to work out & I specified the New York City office. I was surprised but very happy to have received an offer through the NYC office. The entire interviewing & recruiting process lasted 2 months.

They're looking for people who are intelligent, but also personable. If you're able to talk about your experiences with confidence and relate them to situations you'll encounter as an SI Consultant, you'll do well in the interviews.

Interview Question – There were no difficult questions. Most of them were about my experiences and how I dealt with difficult situations.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – As an undergraduate student, I was very impressed with the base salary offer they made.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Atlanta, GA Nov 2012 – Reviewed Dec 10, 2012

Interview Details – I first came into contact with a recruiter at a campus-wide career fair. From there, I applied through my school's career website as well as the company website.

There were three different interviews that I went through. A couple of weeks after I applied, I was contacted about a pre-screening interview. It lasted about 30 minutes. It was really relaxed. I met with one of the managers. She asked me a few questions about my resume and career goals. She then went on to tell me more about her experiences with the company as well as just giving more info about the position and the company. Later that day, I received an e-mail saying that I made it passed the first round interview.

Since I wasn't able to make it to the second interview the very next day, I set up a date and time for a phone interview. The recruiter sent me an e-mail confirming the details and also telling me what to expect. This interview was behavioral based. To prepare for it, I googled several behavioral questions and then wrote out several different general situations that I could use to answer the questions. I was told that the interview would last about 45 but mines was shy of 30 minutes. I think it was because I was asked three questions and I used the STAR method when answering the questions. The interviewer only had to ask a few follow-up questions.

About a week later, I was contacted by the recruiter stating that I had made it to the 3rd and final round of the interview process. I had two weeks to get prepared. It lasted about 3 hours. For the first hour and a half, three other candidates and I were given a presentation by three consultants who had been working for the company for less than 2 years. It was really relaxed and they shared freely about their experiences and answered any questions that we had. Then the candidates were all split up for two 45 minute interviews with senior executives. Honestly they asked me a few questions and then did most of the talking. After the interview finally ended, I was told that I would hear back from them within 10 days.

The next morning, I sent follow-up thank you e-mails to both of the senior exevutives. One actually responded the following day which kind of shocked me!

About 6 business days later, I received a call from the recruiter stating that Accenture would love to extend me an offer. Now I am waiting to get the final details about salary, start date, benefits, etc.

Interview Question – Tell me about a time you had to explain a complex set of instructions to another person.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – I look forward to negotiating the terms if needed.
