    Replenishment Planner Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ monthsinterviewed at Ace Hardware (Oak Brook, IL) in May 2015.

    Interview

Applied following college career fair. Heard nothing for 3 and a half months. Received an email for a phone interview. Difficult to set up time since interviewer said she had afternoon availability but would only set up morning times. Interviewer was 15 minutes late on calling. When she finally did call it was clear she had never looked at my resume, or even had it in front of her. I offered to send her one so we could go through it together. She only asked to go over my resume and qualifications. Interviewer was lost on the company name confusing it with a university, but did not ask for clarification for about 20 minutes. This interview was like pulling teeth. I think she may have asked two questions the entire time and expected me to lead the interview. She was unable to explain the position or the company culture beyond what the job description already stated. It was clear she was not interested in me as a candidate, not prepared for an interview, and not informed about the position she was screening candidates for. She could not even give a timeline of the process moving forward. This was by far the least professional interview I have ever been a part of.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 daysinterviewed at Ace Hardware (Katy, TX) in March 2015.

    Interview

I appliied on line, completing nearly 100 multiple choice questions, many of which seemed irrelevant. I was called in for an interview, at which time I was asked to complete the same personal profile and an additional set of multiple choice questions which were insulting at best. Employees looked hostile and disgruntled, no smiles in sight, so I scampered for the exit. Simply a shamful, humiliating process

I applied online. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at Ace Hardware (Fort Myers, FL) in October 2014.

    Interview

Applied online, was contacted a couple of weeks later by the store manager. Interviewed with Store Manager and HR Representative. Asked standard interview questions about what I do, what I am going to school for, where I live, reliable transportation, how I have handled customers in the past, etc. A week after the initial interview, received an email asking to complete an online customer service course, which was very easy, but took almost an hour to complete. After completion of the online course, called store manager back who set up a second interview with himself and the Regional/District Manager.

    Interview

Pretty straight forward phone interview where a woman asked about my resume and asked about how my skills would work with the job. She was very friendly during the interview and told me that she would let me know about a potential in-person interview within a week. I got an email a couple days later saying that she regretted to say they were going forward with different candidates although I was very qualified

Program Manager of Consumer Insights Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeksinterviewed at Ace Hardware (Oak Brook, IL) in May 2013.

    Interview

I applied online and within a couple of weeks I had an interview set up with HR. After that interview, I was asked to come in for an in-person interview with the hiring manager. When I arrived, HR met with me first, asked me a couple of questions and even told me she does this to help calm any nerves that a candidate might have before they actually meet with the hiring manager. She then shared some background about the hiring manager which might be useful for the interview. Then I met with the hiring manager and we talked for around 1.5 hours (much longer than I had expected, which led me to believe that the interview went very well). I will say that the hiring manager actually talked more than I did ... which later on I feel was a detriment for me. I was told this job was only set up for two interviews (unlike a prior 3-interview process for a different position). After a bit, I checked back in with HR and was told they were pursuing a different candidate. I really loved the corporate culture that I experienced during this interview process. I was made to feel welcome and not just 'another candidate'. I would reapply for an open position I'm qualified for in a heart beat.
