Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Largo, FL Feb 2009 – Reviewed Nov 24, 2009
Interview Details – sent resume re. posting of position in newspaper. followed up w/ phone call. received phone interview and face to face w/ immedite direct report. was hired based on experience selling to gov't entities and soft skills.
Interview Question – How do you feel about possible wknd. travel? View Answer
Negotiation Details –
base sal wasn't negotiatable. was budgeteded due to new outside sales divison and over-supply of nemployed outside sales people . commission structure was "market" also due to job mrkt. Believe Direct Report promised Sr Mgmt 'overnight" results for new startup division/penetration of new market(s) and sr mgmt. failed to adequately fund outside sales efforts (travel, conf's, entertainment, etc.) effectively became an inside sales rep. and was terminated shortly thereafter. Bait & Switch, to say the least.
believe Co now has history of outside selling vs. only inside sales.
