Communication starts with HR recruiter directly who discusses the opening, transition, and some considerations on salary. Formal interview was only 3-4 hrs long and involved meeting with other Consultants and Senior Consultants. Interview involved mostly questions about technical background and mathematical competency. A few mathematical problems were posed to see how the interviewee handled the task.

I was a transitioning veteran who first made contact with an Aetna recruiter through a Virtual Career Fair online. About three weeks later I was contacted by an Aetna recruiter who conducted a behavioral style phone interview with me. About 60 days later Aetna asked me to come to their corporate office in Hartford, CT for face-to-face interview. I interviewed with five recruiters and one hiring manager over a span of 3 hours. Great experience.

I applied online – interviewed at Aetna in November 2014.

    Interview Details

I was contacted by a recruiter after I applied online for a phone interview. I also attended a career fair that Aetna held. I was then contacted 3 weeks later for a face to face interview. The interview was great I ironically meet with the same hiring manger, what should have been a hour long interview was a 20 minute interview. I was then contacted by the coordinator to look out for an email that would contain another application and consent for background check. I was contacted 3 days later with an offer.

You have to know someone to get anywhere. If you are not selected before the job is already listed you cannot get the job. I have interviewed for several jobs while working for the company and this has been the case every time. Even during the interview the hiring manager will tell you they have someone in mind for the position already even if the position was just posted. I believe this is due to rules that they have to post a position prior to promoting someone.

    Clinical Care Manager Interview

I applied online. The process took 8 weeksinterviewed at Aetna.

    Interview Details

I was interviewed by one of the Directors. She had me waiting about 20 minutes past my appointment time but was very courteous about it. She described the program to me in some detail and when it was discovered that I'd had a differenct idea of what the position would be (field vs. telephonic CM) she explained how I could fill a role with a division that would likely require less travel. I really liked her and the program seemed interesting so I proceeded with the interview and accepted the job when it was offered. Huge mistake, btw.

    Interview Questions
    • Nothing was really out of the ordinary. I had some prepared to reference some difficult cases I'd worked with and there were some typical "How do you deal with problems in your team?" type questions but nothing that was very difficult.   Answer Question
    Negotiation Details
They called a week or so after the interview and offered me exactly what I had asked for in the interview. I was afraid to negotiate because I desperately needed the job but I wish I had because I've since learned from my coworkers who were hired for the same program have a pretty wide variation in pay offers.

I applied through college or university. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at Aetna in October 2014.

    Interview Details

They reached out to me after I spoke with them at a career fair at my college and encouraged me to apply. I was invited to an on-campus interview, that consisted of three, 30 minute interviews with two members of the team and the recruiting director. The questions were all behavioral. Everybody was extremely nice and I felt comfortable the entire time.

interviewed at Aetna in October 2014.

Talked to representative at the career fair. Got invited to an on site interview about a month later. Two half hour interviews with members of the Finance Department who seemed a little disinterested. All questions were the basic situational and behavioral ones that seem to always come up in Internship Interviews.
