I applied online. The process took 4 days - interviewed at Aflac in October 2011.

THe hiring process varies a lot by territory, but they are all very lax. Very few of the managers really care whether you will suceed or not. They really want to know that you will at least make it to their sales school so that you count towards their quota.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days - interviewed at Aflac in August 2011.

The higher up's in the company are nice, but the people in charge of training you sometimes leave something to be desired. I had a group interview with several other people and those that were interested were asked to stay and move on and those that weren't, left. I wanted to get more information so I was invited back for a one on one, and accepted the contracting. I went through the licensing class and upon passing and getting my license I was contracted.

They wrote me an email inviting me to come to their office for an interview. When I came in they showed a video to a group. They seemed very desperate And I was not interested in that.

Not a great experience. I walked in the office and they weren't ready for me because they wrote down the wrong interview time. After waiting for a little while I was taken into the interview and I basically got the feeling that I already had the job. She just talked about the company and the job and barely talked about me, then she handed me the process for getting licensed and starting to work.

    Reasons for Declining

Any company that hires this easily must not care too much about their employees. I think they just throw a lot of people against the wall and see who sticks since it is purely commission based. Also, since I would technically only be an agent, they wanted me to pay $125 a month to use their office.

Very unorganized experience. They wrote me in for the wrong time, so when I came in they thought I was coming in an hour earlier. Needless to say, they weren't very prepared and probably hadn't reviewed my application much. Regardless, I felt like they had already decided to hire me before I came in the door. I think that is their strategy; they just hire a lot of people and see who sinks or swims.

Since they probably hire in bulk, I figured I wouldn't be very valued as an employee. Also, they want you to pay $125 rent a month to use their office (on a commissions only paycheck).

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks - interviewed at Aflac in April 2011.

    Interview Details

The initial contact was unimpressive at test. After I received an e-mail I called and left a message with the recruiter. I was not called back for over a month once, by that time I had already found an employer but decided to keep my options open and come in for the interview anyways. . Once it started, he was unfocused and borderline rude. Glad that I did not get a call back for this position; working with them would have obviously been a poor decision.

    Interview Questions
    • Thats the real problem is there weren't any really good questions, the general interview, (what are you looking for, what do you expect where asked) besides being a colossal waste of time revealed that the recruiter was probably paid for getting bodies in the door, not necessarily getting people hired and his only real interest was in being a sponge that sucked the energy out of the room during the interview, interrupting by using his cellphone to answer texts multiple times.   Answer Question
    Reasons for Declining

The overall atmosphere and dedication of the current employees.

I applied through college or university. The process took a day - interviewed at Aflac in February 2011.

Expect a lot of sales-talk. Aflac doesn't really interview, they simply try and get you pumped about the job. They really try and find out if you have any good leads before you start employment. For example, if you have a friend who owns a pumbing company, or your dad is a General Manager of an auto dealership. They figure if you can get this first account, it will push you through the first few months of training until you get on your feet. If you ever get on your feet...

A simple group interview to start, then followed by a one-on-one interview with a manager. They speak of all these different "positions" but it's really just setting appointments with business owners and sales.
