It was a pleasure speaking with you today. Our conversation brought to fruition a unique approach to business and growth market potential.

I am intrigued by the unique opportunity available with your organization. I am looking forward to partake in the next step of your hiring process and discussion. Exclusive Agent Interview

Anonymous Employee

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 6 months - interviewed at Allstate.

Interview Details – In the interview process they promise you the moon and the stars. They give you "what if" scenarios that focus on best case scenarios that do not exist in reality. They do not tell you anything negative, such as the fact that they change production goals (always increasing) and have and do exercise the right to reduce commissions.

Negotiation Details – As a new agent there is little to negotiate. If a book is available for sale, you can negotiate purchase terms with that agent and you are then obligated to keep the agency in the area. Commissions paid are non-negotiable and do change annual, and not in the agent's favor. You are an independent contractor so there are no benefits (vacation/holiday pay, sick time, medical, dental, or 401K).

I applied through college or university and interviewed at Allstate.

Interview Details – Applied through the University and heard back via email about two weeks later. Completed a pre interview screening process via email, and then asked to come to a in person interview. Standard behavioral questions, and intense questions about resume and past experiences. Be prepared to answer how you are dedicated for the insurance sector, and Allstate as a firm. Stiff competition, many university and experience professionals apply

Interview Question – What would result if the company stopped renewing insurance policies in a specific area, say a hurricane region?   View Answer

Reason for Declining – wanted to stay in the real estate sector

440 Licensed Customer Service Representative Interview

Anonymous Employee
Charlotte, NC

I applied online and the process took 4 weeks - interviewed at Allstate in April 2010.

Interview Details – Normal star type of interview in person plus 2 phone interviews and also a scripted mock customer at face to face interview. They give you a tour of the facilities and they expect you to be early to your appointment. They usually hire about 2 months in advance of the training class. Training is about 16 weeks and it is god awful and structured like a middle school class.
