Analyst Interview (Neutral Experience; Difficult Interview)
I applied through a recruiter and interviewed at Altisource.
Interview Details – Very intense!! There's the Wonder-lick and then another test. There was two phone interviews and a face to face. Interview was about two to three hours. The interview questions were not really related to my position.
Interview Question – A question about the weight of pool balls. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – Make sure everything is writing as far as negotiating.
Senior Business Analyst Interview (Neutral Experience; Difficult Interview)
I applied online and the process took 2+ weeks - interviewed at Altisource in August 2013.
Interview Details – There were three rounds of interviews. The first was a phone screen with a recruiter. The second was an in-person with only the hiring manager (basic interview with good questions and interaction about the position and the company). The last interview was in-person with three people (hiring manager, peer, and a manager that was not related to the position) -- very tense, lots of detailed questions about providing specific examples; a brain teaser concluded the interview. There were two personality / IQ tests at 2 different points of the process.
Interview Question – Nothing unexpected, but all of the questions were very detailed and wanted exact examples of projects and how i exemplified a specific value / characteristic. Answer Question
Very Easy Interview
Residential Analyst Interview (Neutral Experience; Very Easy Interview)
I applied through a recruiter and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Altisource in February 2012.
Interview Details – Getting hired was no problem but ever trying to get promoted is a nightmare!
Interview Question – They place 100% of their hiring on the Wonderlic Test. If you fail it you will not be offered a position. Even if Bill Gates himself wanted to work for this company and didnt pass his initial test it would be a no go Answer Question
Negotiation Details – standard no negotiating
Product Manager Interview (Neutral Experience)
I applied in-person and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Altisource.
Interview Details – The interview process began with a review and discussion of my resume's professional and educational experiences with what would be my direct report. Following that I was placed on a phone call to a different supervisor. Once that phone call was over, there was a third portion of the interview that was with my direct supervisor and a different manager. I was offered at the end of the interview and accepted, which then began the wait for Altisource to approve the paperwork to approve my contract.
Interview Question – Because I was being hired as a contracted employee there wasn't a difficult or unexpected question. The interview was very straightforward. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – I was not able to negotiate.
Title Assistant Interview (Positive Experience; Difficult Interview)
I applied online and the process took 5 days - interviewed at Altisource in June 2013.
Interview Details – Very detailed process. First contact was a phone interview with the Recruiting Manager and an online personality quiz. Second contact was another phone interview but this time with the local office and another online quiz. Third contact was a face to face interview and another online quiz. The face to face and the third quiz were both very stressful and I wasn't even sure that I would hear from them again but I did. They offer me the job and I accepted. I start at the end of June.
Interview Question – The online intelligence test. It had a lot of math questions which really threw me for a loop since the Title Assistant job does not involve math. View Answer
Negotiation Details – I did not have to negotiate. I was offered a great salary and I accepted it.
Marketing Manager Interview (Positive Experience; Difficult Interview)
I applied through a recruiter and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Altisource.
Interview Details – Was found by a recruiter and had a quick phone screen. From there I came in for an in person with my hiring manager. It was my birthday and the recruiter had a brownie waiting for me! There was one more round after that, another in person about an hour long. Had an offer by the end of that week.
Interview Question – You have to take a WPT - SAT type questions - and score a certain number to be considered. Nerve wracking but basic enough (obviously I passed). View Answer
Negotiation Details – They're willing to negotiate and were able to get me quick answers to my questions.
Senior Product Manager Interview (Positive Experience; Difficult Interview)
I applied through a recruiter and the process took 2+ weeks - interviewed at Altisource in April 2012.
Interview Details – Multi-stage selection process involving initial personality screening, one-on-one phone interview with hiring manager, additional testing and an experience-based panel interview. Rigorous process, but turnaround (from initial identification to offer) is much faster than most other companies.
Interview Question – Brain teaser questions during the panel interview. White board or verbal responses needed to solve; some panel member coaching. View Answer
Negotiation Details – If presented with an offer, take no longer than 24 hours to decide to either accept or decline. If you have other opportunities you're pursuing, move them for a decision quickly.
Very Easy Interview
Human Resources Generalist Interview (Negative Experience; Very Easy Interview)
I applied through other source and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Altisource in October 2012.
Interview Details – Two interviews combined with two tests that were to gauge "intelligence." Interviews were combination of sales pitches and inbox tests.
Interview Question – Employee scheduled for 8am, shows up at 10, and asks payroll in another office to clock them in at 8. How do you handle this? View Answer
Reason for Declining – HR:EE ratio was abysmal and counter evidence that they valued HR. Also, not comfortable with HR Director management style or business model.
Business Analyst Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Altisource in July 2014.
Interview Details – I applied for the opening with Business Analyst role at Altisource 2 weeks ago.
First round was analytical and logical questioning round. 50 questions to be attempted in 12 min. The accuracy and speed was tested. I cleared the round but due to tie break in the marks, I was asked to attempt the same set of questions again with the competitors. I have crossed that test as well. Most of the elimination was in the first round. Many of the candidates appeared (around 20+) and only 3 were short listed for the next round.
Second round: Psychometric round- A self assessment sheet having set of questions about office culture in which yo work and what will be expected out of a candidate in general. (this is not an elimination round but wit the way you answer, you will be evaluated in the HR Round)
Third round: HR Discussion. It was a telephonic round and they asked questions about the current role, package expected and readiness to work on shift basis. Since I was not aware and ready for a noon shift, I asked for a day shift. But the Interviewer was stubborn that if I am not ready for the shift, they will not proceed further.
This lead me to drop the further rounds. As per my knowledge the next round was technical round for SQL and MS EXCEL. If you are confident and prepared with basics and communication skills, it is not a tough interview to clear.
All the best!
Interview Question – First round was bit challenging as most of the questions were tricky and logical based. Once i got into a tie break, I was expecting another set of questions. But the same set of questions were provided which made the candidates in check-mate situation. As, we cannot be sure as our previous attempts were right or wrong (unless we are super confident!). This was an unexpected situation but smart work will always pays u a way. Answer Question
Reason for Declining – The role was associated with a noon shift basis work timing.

Interview Question – They were all too basic. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – non negotiable ctc.
