    Senior Human Resources Assistant Interview

I interviewed through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Amazon.com.

    Interview Details

The recruiters that I talked to were so great and I was surprised I heard back from them, the HR leader that I spoke to was a different story. After the recruiter confirmed that the phone interview would be at 3:30, I didn't get called until 4:30. She asked me to explain my current work situation and in that discussion I explained to her why I was hoping to leave the company, and she said that she understood and it was time for the interview questions now, her first question was why do I want to leave the company... 15 minutes in, she apologizes and puts me on hold for another call and then says she has to go and that we could resume the interview the next day. The questions she asked were so horribly stupid I couldn't wait to get off the phone, I completely checked out and wasn't surprised to hear that I didn't get the position. I couldn't be happier, I wouldn't be able to handle working for somebody like that

I interviewed online. The process took 3 days - interviewed at Amazon.com in January 2014.

    Interview Details

I was contacted almost immediately after applying to Amazon, asked to respond to a generic questionnaire and then asked to schedule a phone interview. The phone interview was pretty basic asking me to detail items on my resume that made me experienced for the job.

The interviewer really didn't want to know about me as a person they only wanted to know that I could regurgitate information about Amazon's corporate culture. When I was asked to tell her my favorite thing about Amazon and I did she told me that wasn't what she was looking for. I had to press her to find out she wanted me to list even more of Amazon's core principles.

We didn't mesh well on the phone and although I was told I would be contacted with a decision one way or the other I never was. (I could tell I didn't make it to the next round anyway).

I interviewed through college or university. The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Amazon.com in April 2012.

    Interview Details

I got the interview through a person who formerly worked at my university; they immediately offered to fly me out for an interview or compensate my own transportation. They also offered to pay for overnight stay and dinner which I unfortunately could not attend. The interview started off with a tour of the warehouse followed by 2 meetings with different HR people. I thought the interviews went pretty well but unfortunately I didn't get the job- I asked for feedback and also never got feedback so I was never really sure what went wrong...

I interviewed online. The process took a day - interviewed at Amazon.com in June 2012.

    Interview Details

The hiring manager was very open and honest about the rigorous schedule of the company. I was told several times that they are open 363 days out of the year, with hopes of having Thanksgiving and Christmas off. I would suspect that there have been issues with work hours due to the strong emphasis of the scheduling requirements.

Most of the questions that I was asked were situational regarding past experience with handling HR matters. The interviewer was very upfront stating that they would not be able to compete with my current salary, thus ending the interview process. Unfortunately, that was after I had already answered about 30 minutes worth of interview questions.

I interviewed online. The process took 2 months - interviewed at Amazon.com in April 2012.

    Interview Details

The first response from the company after submitting my appliaction online was a queestionnaire which consisted of 5-6 questions to determine if I was a good fit for the job. The questions were very general in nature (i.e. Why would you like to work for Amazon?, Minimum Salary expectations?, etc.). About 3 weeks passed and I received another email invitation to for a phone interview with a recruiter at the comapany's headquarters. This consisted of a basic "Tell me about Yourself" type questions and a few behavioral questions. In about 3 days I was invited to meet with the hiring manager in person at the company's fulfillment center. This interview was completely behavioral based questions and lasted roughly 2 hours. 1 hour was spent touring the facility while the last hour was spent interviewing with a team of 2 managers. Overall, the interview process was somewhat lengthy but well worth it after receiving a great offer! I do however wish there was more communication regarding the actual hours of the position as there were several shifts for the positon I wasn't prepared to accept.
