    Interview

So being that I just finished the entire process and just got an offer, I'll provide some details for you guys. I applied online on a Sunday through indeed.com, the next day on Monday I received a link to take an assessment. Part of the assessment was timed, and the entire assessment took a little over an hour. A day later on Tuesday I received a phone call from HR, this phone call was very short, under 15 minutes, simply asked me where I worked, what I did and why I wanted to work for AAA. At the end of the phone call she invited me for a meet and greet with HR at the local corporate office. The meet and greet was scheduled for two days later on that Thursday she said that she understood it was short notice and that more meet and greets would come up in the following weeks. I was off from work that Thursday so I ended up accepting the invitation. At the meet and greet we had a couple people from HR go over the requirements and duties of the position and then we were all interviewed by an HR recruiter on a one on one. I was contacted the following week to notify me that I had passed onto the next step, this final step consisted of 3 interviews all in one day and was scheduled in about two weeks. I showed up and it was more of mixer with different managers from different offices walking around and meeting people. They also had current employees walking around so that you would be able to ask them questions on their daily work days. The candidates were being pulled into the interview room at random from this mixer area. The first interview consisted of role playing, I was given a situation as if I was already taking a live phone call and they wanted to see how you would handle that specific situation. I was given about 5 different scenarios ranging from a client simply wanting a car rental all the way to a client calling because their spouse has passed away and wanted to remove her from the policy. I was notified that i had passed and then i was interviewed by a different manager and was asked 3 pretty normal questions, such as tell me a time when you had an irate customer and how you handled it? After passing that I was then interviewed by the manager of the actual branch that I had applied for. This last interview was not a really an interview but just more like getting to know each other. He asked me about school and my hobbies, so we ended up talking about sports and stock trading since those where the hobbies I mentioned. At that point i was dismissed and the HR recruiter told me that she would be following up in the upcoming week. I was called on Monday to tell me that I would be receiving an offer letter and would get the job pending the background and hair follicle drug test.

I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at American Automobile Association (AAA) (Wayne, NJ).

    Interview

Submitted resume via Monster as well as personal email. Received a call 2 days later to schedule an interview the following week. Interviewed on a Tuesday morning and received offer on Wednesday afternoon. Simple interview, met with HR first for half an hour at the corporate office, she went over the culture of the company, benefits, 401k options etc., followed by roughly an hour interview with the dispatch manager and assistant manager. They just really wanted to get a feel of my character.

    Customer Service Representative Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at American Automobile Association (AAA) (Long Beach, CA) in August 2015.

    Interview

The entire interviewing process took roughly one week. I applied on a Wednesday, I was sent a link to take a pre employment assessment the next day. On Thursday I completed the assessment. This assessment consisted of customer call simulation and coding .It took about an hour to complete it was not extremely difficult but it is time sensitive and requires some level of concentration. After taking my assessment on Thursday, I received an email from HR saying that I passed the assessment and that I was invited to set up a phone interview. I set up my phone interview for the next day, Friday. The phone interview was conducted by a nice recruiter from HR she went over the specs of the job, the starting pay, may work holidays and weekends, 40 hours a week, when training would start and so on. She then asked me quite a few questions, how fast did I type, customer service skills, why did I want the position, what interested me in the company, how did I feel about the company's policy on being on time to training (this was a 20 min call). That following Monday I received a call from the supervisor of the call center, she told me she would call me Tuesday morning and we would have a brief 10-15 minute role play call. The next day she called me a few minutes earlier than the time she told me she would (so be prepared). We did two role play scenarios, one where a member wanted to pay via credit card which we don't accept and one where the member was frustrated that her tow truck hadn't arrived when a rep had told her it would arrive. This is completely ad lib they are not looking for you to know company policy, just make sure you mock how you've heard call center reps interact, if you do not know I suggest you look on Youtube. The duration of the role play call was 6 minutes, immediately after we finished the role play she offered me an invitation to come in for a face to face interview that Thursday. I interviewed, dress business casual, I sat in on a couple of calls for about 10-15 minutes with another rep, it doesn't seem to bad. I was then taken to the cubicle where the supervisor who actually conducted the role play call met me, her and another supervisor interviewed me. If it helps, they write the entire time you interview so it helps ease the mind and nerves. During the interview ***always remember S.T.A.R. when they ask you a question: Scenario, Task, Action, Result. They are looking for what YOU did on the job at your previous employment NOT what you did as a group or you and your supervisor. They asked me some preliminary questions and then followed with the "real" questions there were 6 which they will explain to you. Most are situational questions that may require some thought: Tell me about a time where...... you didn't agree with a supervisor and how did you handle it, you were passionate about a project and how did you go about succeeding, you handled a customer complaint, you went above and beyond..... Just remember STAR, that has to be your response layout for EVERY SINGLE QUESTION. From the time I walked into AAA's door until I got in my car an hour had passed so I'd say the interview process was 30-45min. That afternoon I received a call that I was offered the position. The next day, Friday, HR sent me my offer letter and info on the hiring process to follow... I hope this helps good luck :)

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took a week. I interviewed at American Automobile Association (AAA) (Irving, TX).

    Interview

I attended an open job fair held by AAA (they were only employer); I was given a short 10 min interview immediately by an HR rep at the job fair (only some job fair attendees were interview there); I was called a few days later and asked to come in for a skills test (involved basic typing, then a decision-making, problem-solving, and multi-tasking test) - the testing lasted about 1 hr. - I was then asked to interview with 2 managers (at the same time) - the interview lasted about 35-45 mins.

    Interview Questions

    • They asked a lot about my resume and past experience, why I thought I would like to work at AAA, why I thought I would like to work in the insurance industry. They explained that AAA is a rather conservative company with dress code (even for call center employees - at the time the still required men to wear business shirt and tie; women could were slacks, dress or skirts - NO jeans, NO t-shirts, NO polo shirts except ones with AAA logo (on Mondays), NO capris, NO sandals) - they wanted to know if I could and would be compliant with a conservative office atmosphere and if I felt I could be comfortable there; explained schedule/hours/days required and asked if I would be able to work the schedule presented (the schedule actual changed within a few weeks of being hired from working M-F until 8pm to working every other Saturday with a random weekday off the week you worked on Saturday and hours were extended to 9pm - this was changed before I even finished training and my entire training class was told we would have to work the new schedule or we would not be kept on as an employee)   Answer Question
