    Insurance Agent Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Saint Louis, MO
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at American Automobile Association (AAA) (Saint Louis, MO) in April 2015.

    Interview

I found the job opening in a Career Fair. I talked to a manager of the main branch which lead me to a interview the next day. I came with over 250 contacts that I can use to start prospecting. All insurance companies want you to have about 200 contacts for you to prospect on paper (people that you know). The next day I interviewed with two other branch managers at HQ I was sent a personalty test to do. I pass the test. Next I was set up to meet with the regional manager the next week. If you make it this far you are in. The regional manager told me about the career and I started filling out paperwork for hire. The offer was $2500 for the first month while studying then 3K for three months while in training (you have to clock in and out 8:30am -5:30pm). After training you get a $2500 forgivable draw every month(you don't have to clock in). Yes it is commissions. The monthly goal is 20 policies a month! A lot but you also have to sale memberships that can lead to policies. However before you are hired you have to pass a background check which can take a week and a hair drug test that goes 90 days back. It has been over a week and my background and drug test have not came back yet. Before going on the interview try to have 200 contacts. I had that and a loan officer in my pocket which will lead to home policies.

    Customer Service Representative Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Burbank, CA
    Accepted Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at American Automobile Association (AAA) (Burbank, CA) in April 2015.

    Interview

Simple questions. Very standard. The process involved drug testing via hair at 3rd party company. Initial testing online about ethics and attempting to assess you as an individual. Two entities were involved, the HR department and a outside company. The both were doing the same thing and at one point the hr dept contacted me and said that I needed to get my W2's to them. I sent those via email from IRS. He said he did not get them, then said that they contacted a former employer and all was ok. Then 4 days later the outside background company said that I still need to get former employer info to them.

The candidates then go take a second test. The first was about maps and finding things on Google Maps. The second was basic customer service scenarios. After passing both you interview with the direct hiring manager that you will be working for, your team lead.

    Interview

Applied online, received a call from a Tampa area code, 813, from a nice recruiter. She asked several questions (pre-screening interview) Be prepared to answer general interview questions. If you are applying for this position, MAKE SURE YOU TELL THEM YOU HAVE CALL CENTER EXPERIENCE AND SALES EXPERIENCE. If you do well on the phone, she will schedule a in office interview, and will be asked to complete an online assessment. The interview IS LONG. My interview took almost two hours. I was interviewed by two supervisors. They were nice. The interview consisted of a "pretend sales call", in addition, they asked about fifteen questions, that needed to be detailed and from a specific experience. After completing the interview they advised they would call me back. i received a call last week, asking me to come in AGAIN later this week...so we'll see what happens next.

    Travel Sales Agent Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Greenville, SC
    Declined Offer
    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at American Automobile Association (AAA) (Greenville, SC) in February 2015.

    Interview

Applied online, after not hearing back in a week, I checked back twice in order to speak with hiring manager. She was very kind and scheduled a phone interview with me. After the phone interview, she forwarded my information to the specific branch I was applying to. I received a call from that branch with a spontaneous 5 minute interview, she then scheduled me to come in to an interview.

She then proceeded to tell me about the "travel sales position," which did not match the description of the interview. For the first 6 months, you work at the front desk managing a large amount of tasks including selling AAA memberships. She said that they try to teach you everything you could possibly know about AAA services, then after 6 months, you begin to help customers with domestic car travel, and as months go on, you become a true "Travel Agent," in booking international flights, etc. but it will take around 1 1/2 years to have this role.

Long story short, starting out would have been a highly administrative role that only including a very small percentage of helping people plan trips - therefore I decided it was not what I was looking for in a position. The interviewer was very kind and liberal with information when I asked her about specifics.
