Senior Financial Sales Advisor Interview

Senior Financial Sales Advisor
Scottsdale, AZ

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 3 days - interviewed at BBVA Compass in June 2012.

Interview Details – My friend hired me, so it wasn't a true interview process. This happens a lot here. Out of the last 20 new hires 19 are from Chase. It is a bank so you have to pass finger print, back ground check, and drug tests. Also must have or get 6/63 life and health to be Senior FSA.

Interview Question – You do an interview with the Branch manager and also with the District manager. Then they offer you the job.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – I asked for an extra week of vacation and got it. I told the HR lady she asked the manager and they said yes.

Financial Sales Advisor II Interview

Financial Sales Advisor II

I interviewed at BBVA Compass in June 2013.

Interview Details – Things started off on the wrong foot as I received slightly conflicting, near simultaneous communications from both their corporate HR department and the local hiring manager. At the interview the hiring manager was almost 15 minutes late, with no apology. I felt that there was no thought put into the interview process as it had nothing to do with the advertised position. The hiring manager just dove in and started asking seemingly random questions. Toward the end, I was informed of an entirely different set of responsibilities in addition to that in the advertised job description. It was a very frustrating experience as I could have better prepared had I known that I was being interviewed for a hybrid position. Instead, I spent most of the interview time in perplexity.

Interview Question – Other than personal / conversational questions, all others seemed difficult. The advertised job title included the words "Personal Banker". Further, the job description were entirely related to this type of a business. The interview questions were related to a business development type of position. For example, 'How would you expand the market base for xyz product?" Moreover, I was informed that I'd also have to sell business banking products.   Answer Question

Sales and Service Advisor Interview

Sales and Service Advisor
Houston, TX

I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at BBVA Compass in October 2012.

Interview Details – I applied for the position and was called back by a recruiter after three days. It is a new hybrid position where you will have banker and teller responsibilities. The recruiter explained the starting salary but due to the position being so new, He couldn't provide more in-depth details. I went in for the the face-to face interview and the branch manager went over a few more details about the position. The interview went very well. It was mostly behavior based questions and additional question due to the slow foot traffic of the branch I had applied for. I am still waiting for a call back as they're in the beginning stages of interviewing.

Interview Question – The questions aren't difficult at all. Since it is a hybrid position with banker and teller responsibilities, the better versed in those fields you are, the more the questions are to your advantage.   Answer Question

Financial Sales Advisor II Interview

Financial Sales Advisor II
Edinburg, TX

The process took a day - interviewed at BBVA Compass in January 2010.

Interview Details – It was your basic interview. The manager and her assistant manager were both present. The questions sound very canned and the interviewer was about 20 minutes late. My advice is to read ehow or monster for interview tips and be prepared for canned responses such as "Why you want to work here," etc.

Interview Question – Where do you see yourself in 5 years?   View Answer

Negotiation Details – There is no ability to negotiate. The salary is "take it or leave it." And it is LOW LOW LOW.

I applied through an employee referral and interviewed at BBVA Compass.

Interview Details – Take a personality test. If you fail it then they will not hire you. If you pass then you will meet with the branch manager. In some cases the branch manager will hire you directly but more recently the district manager will be your second interview. They will ask behavioral based questions

Interview Question – Most difficult will probably be the district manager interviewing you.   Answer Question
