Loan Review Consultant Interview (Positive Experience; Difficult Interview)
I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at BKD.
Interview Details – Got an interview through applying on their website plus a family member referral. I had a great time talking three of their employees about the position. I gained a lot of knowledge about the position and what goes on with day to day operations.
Interview Question – They asked multiple times if travel would be an issue. Answer Question
Staff Auditor Interview (Negative Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took a day - interviewed at BKD.
Interview Details – Campus Interview- very short, informal.
Interview Question – Didn't really ask me a lot of behavioral questions, just about school and whether I was interested in audit or tax. Answer Question
Staff Accountant Interview (Neutral Experience)
Interviewed at BKD
Interview Details – Was invited into an office interview, in which 46 other candidates were brought in. Each of us had interviews with 3 people, at the senior/manager or director level. Associates took us to lunch. Afterwards, they gave a presentation explaining their benefits package and their future, and that was all.
Interview Question – The interviews were generally conversational, and did not really contain any difficult questions. Answer Question
Staff Consultant Interview (Positive Experience; Easy Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at BKD in March 2013.
Interview Details – Attended a pre-night interview on campus where presentation was given by two members of the loan review group. Had a face-to-face 30 minute interview the following morning. Typical behavioral interview and was asked questions about how I felt about the traveling aspect of the job. Asked to attend final round interview in Indianapolis a week or so later. It was about a 3 hour long process during which I interviewed with 3 separate members of the loan review department. All of my interviewers were younger men (mid to late twenties) and were extremely laid back. Talk a lot about sports and made a few jokes. Then all potential candidates were taken out to lunch in the city with the CEO and other members of the firm.
Interview Question – What type of role do you typically try to take in a team environment and how do you work with other people? Answer Question
Staff Accountant Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took 2 days - interviewed at BKD in October 2012.
Interview Details – They had an oncampus interview followed by second round. Both were fairly informal.
Interview Question – The only question I was ever asked. "Tell me about yourself." Answer Question
Staff Auditor Interview (Positive Experience; Difficult Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at BKD in June 2012.
Interview Details – Management and Partners are very polite, overall BKD gives off a good vibe. I've researched the company and it appears the biggest CON is that you have to work extremely hard, though isn't this to be expected in any position? Should anything less be expected? I believe this is a PRO, staying busy/working hard allows for personal growth on many level, this is surely a PRO in my opinion. I understand that I am just an outsider looking in, but my first impression is that BKD would make a great employer and has a lot to offer those willing to work hard for a living.
Audit Intern Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took 2 days - interviewed at BKD in February 2011.
Interview Details – They hosted a dinner for all of the potential recruits the night before the interview, which was very laid back and went pretty well. The interview went on all throughout the following day on campus. The recruiter was outside of the interview room, and almost gave you a pre-interview prior to entering the actual interview with one of BKD's senior managers.
Interview Question – What made you want to get into the accounting? View Answer
Accounting Interview (Positive Experience; Easy Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took a day - interviewed at BKD in September 2010.
Interview Details – There was only one interview; a one on one with a recruiter from the Dallas office. There was also an assistant outside the interview room to greet applicants and this was a relief, especially on a college campus. The interview was planned through a college recruiting office, so there isn't much to say about the organization of the interview. However, the interview went very smoothly and was very casual. Within the 30 minutes allotted to the interview, I was able to show the recruiter that I was a good fit into the company's culture and atmosphere. The recruiter was very calming and allowed me to be myself by setting the tone of interview as a very casual interaction.
Interview Question – Tell me about your work experience and client interaction. View Answer

Interview Details – Had a phone interview with operating manager, really nice person. Have not heard back from them yet
Very Easy Interview
Audit Intern Interview (Positive Experience; Very Easy Interview)
The process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at BKD in October 2009.
Interview Details – I had two interviews with BKD. The first interview was on campus. It was really relaxed and informal. Questions consisted of why accounting, why bkd, and the normal resume questions. The second interview I had was at their office in Indianapolis. It was an all day event where you have interviews with two partners and do a few other activities. The interview with the partners was very similar to the on campus interview.
