    Interview

Most awkward interview I ever had. Two managers sat down with me and looked at me as if I were supposed to be conducting the meeting. They asked me one question and then kept making faces at each other while taking turns just blabbering on about themselves. They should have done a better phone screen before this group interview.

    Interview

Had a couple of really good interviews with really good feedback with different people in the organization and got scheduled for a final conversation with the head of the department. Great news!

The day before that last interview I got an email from the recruiting team asking if I was able to reschedule and I said that it would be very difficult given my schedule but that Fridays usually work best because those are the days I am usually in Chicago. A day later they reply saying that if I preferred to have phone call at 830am on Friday instead of an in-person meeting and I agreed. I never heard back from the recruiter confirming whether or not I was having a phone call for that last interview and to my surprise my cellphone rang a few minutes after 830am. I hesitated for a little bit because I barely respond to phone calls from number I don't recognize but I thought "this" could actually be "that" call. And it was!. No biggie.

The call went well but towards the end of it I started getting questions around a very specific skill that, and I quote, was "key to get hired for this position" but surprisingly was nowhere to be found in the job description (3 page-MS Word document) that I got from the recruiting team and that I was never asked before through out the entire process, neither the recruiting team nor the people I interviewed with.

How comes that such a key skill was not mentioned before?

    Interview

Applied online. Had a phone interview with HR. All of the questions were about my experiences and why this job and why BMO. Then had a super day where I met with 5 current analyst or associates. Lots of technical questions about valuations and financial statements. Also behavior and fit questions.

    Interview

Got a really late call (May) and lady seemed rushed to do the interview. I already expected to not get an offer so I'm not sure why they bothered to call back so late in the game. I do like BMO I just felt like I should have been treated more fairly instead of rushed through the phone.

    Interview

Applied online and about a week later received email from the recruitment network requesting a phone screening. This portion of the interview process was all done by email. The recruiter (from a third party vendor - aonhewitt) gave her availability and I replied back and she confirmed. After the initial phone interview, which consisted of the usual behavioral questions, she informed me she would forward her notes to the hiring manager. If he was interested, he would contact me. The recruiter was friendly and helpful. She let me know that if I was invited to interview with the manager the questions would be more of the same, but more aggressive.
I did get that second interview, and had a great rapport with the branch manager, but did not get the position. The interview lasted an hour and was more behavioral questions (i.e. specific examples of what you did or how you've handled past experiences). They do NOT want to hear what you WOULD do.
Both the recruiter and the hiring manager were very truthful in that they both told me there were several candidates for the role and many internally. I did appreciate this information. Overall, the experience was positive and I will continue to seek other positions within this company.

    Interview

All through campus recruiting. First round on campus, second round in Toronto. First round was just a resume review, and a couple of questions, namely the prices of certain commodities and to talk about an equity you like and why. Round two was a typical 4 interview day, where 3 were behavioural and one was technical.

    Application

I applied online – interviewed at BMO Financial Group (Chicago, IL) in November 2011.

    Interview

Applied on-line. Received a response from the Recruiter (contractor) within 48hours. Phone interview was scheduled. I was asked basic questions about my resume (walk me through your resume, why are you interested in BMO? What are your salary expectations? I was told I would be contacted within a week. After three weeks with no additional contact, I applied for another position (Employee Relations Business Partner). I received a call from the same Recruiter (less than 48 hrs) to schedule a phone interview. I thought that perhaps she did not remember that I had spoken to her three weeks earlier. When she contacted me for the phone interview she began by saying; "This won't take long because i already have the answers from your last behavioral interview". Her next questions was: "i know you have some flexibility with your salary expectations, how low are you willing to go"?
