I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Banana Republic in November 2012.
Interview Details – Applied online, and got a call a couple days later. Went in for my interview that week and after a couple days I was contacted about a job.
Interview Question – Tell me about a time when you challenged yourself. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – I didn't try to negotiate because it was a seasonal position. If I were to do it again I would definitely bargain some more because I know they will give you more. Not everyone starts at the same wage.
I applied online and the process took 5 days - interviewed at Banana Republic in November 2013.
Interview Details – Applied online and 2 days later received a phone call for an interview. Went in for a group interview with one manager and 3 other. The manager asked us to introduce ourselves and to tell her anything she wanted us to know about ourselves. Because this was a retail seasonal job, I told her I had 4 years of retail and holiday experience. Questions were normal questions that were geared towards past work experience, like "When was a time you went out of your way to help out someone at work?" However there were more general questions like "What was your biggest accomplishment?" We answered the same questions one by one and the process took almost an hour (but I had pretty talkative interviewees in my group). I was offered a position later that day.
Interview Question – What was a recent problem you had to solve? Answer Question
I applied through a recruiter and the process took a day - interviewed at Banana Republic.
Interview Details – The interview process for the particular store I work at was too easy. There is nothing to really say since he didn't really ask me much of anything.
Interview Question – Why do you want to work here? Answer Question
I applied online and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at Banana Republic in October 2013.
Interview Details – I applied online for a seasonal position and got a call regarding the position ten days later. The person I spoke with said she was the store manager and told me she would call me for a phone interview some time in the late morning a couple of days later. She never called me for the interview and did not return my call after I left a message for her with a store associate... when I tried to contact her to see why my interview call was late/never happened I was told she was on break and to leave my name and phone number(which I did).
I can understand that if I wasn't picked for the position or if the position had been filled that there wouldn't be a need to proceed with my interview process. However, I'm disappointed with the lack of communication on Banana Republic's part and have since withdrawn my application.

I applied in-person - interviewed at Banana Republic in April 2009.
Interview Details – The interview process was very straightforward. I had prior retail store experience so perhaps my process was slightly different. If I remember correctly, it was a phone-based interview and did not require an in person interview. Generally, they were looking for someone with some type of experience in sales in a retail setting.
Interview Question – How do you react when a customer is unwilling to listen to you? Or something of the sort... Answer Question
I applied in-person and the process took 3 days - interviewed at Banana Republic in December 2012.
Interview Details – I went to a local store and brought a resume into HR and had the Hr director come out and talk to me for a few minutes which was a nice change. she then asked me to attend a group interview a few days later. she briefed the five of us on the job details and the company, then had us answer some general questions about selling and had us role-play with her as a customer trying to sell a random item to her to get a sense of how we would think on our feet.
Interview Question – none really Answer Question
Reason for Declining – low pay, $10/hr flat with no commission and I had other better-paying options
I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Banana Republic in August 2012.
Interview Details – I only had 1 interview which I had gotten after a week of the original application entry. They asked basic questions, but also had this role playing where you try to convince/help the hiring manager pick a outfit for his/her date later that night.
Interview Question – Who or what do you get your fashion/style from? Answer Question
The process took 1 week - interviewed at Banana Republic in November 2011.
Interview Details – The application process is 100% online and includes your basics (education, employment) as well as a series of questions (some with photos of displays) to make you familiar with how BR functions and partially figure out if you would be a good fit. A phone interview took place and at the end an face-to-face interview was scheduled. After several days I called to check in (Gap, Inc. sends an email if you aren't going to be offered a position) and they were waiting on my background check to come through (which took an abnormally long amount of time), but eventually went through and I was offered a position in Sales Support, which I preferred.
Interview Question – You don't have any swastikas or anything like that tattooed on you, right? View Answer

The process took a day - interviewed at Banana Republic in October 2011.
Interview Details – I went on company website to apply for seasonal position. I got a call back about 2-3 days later asking to come in for group interview. There were about 10 people there and I didn't think I would get a call back since 4 of them worked for Gap, Inc. before. I thought it went okay. Next day, I get a call for a second interview. However, by then I had another offer so I decided to decline interview.
