Fast Process, had two phone screens and then was flown out to New York for Superday. Long Super day. there were two groups of canadites each with about six to eight applicants. Had 4 interviews, three were one on ones and the other was a two on one. Met with people in various groups and different levels. Half were more of just an intro since they were hiring for there latin american group specifically and I was not a fit for that group. the other was purely behaviorial and fit type questions. Very interested in past experience and motivation for wanting to work in credit. The two on one was very technical and asked about industries and companies you found interesting. Never got a response from them.

I applied through college or university. The process took 1+ weekinterviewed at Bank of America.

    Interview Details

Applied through college, heard back in 3 days that I got a on-campus interview the following week. It was mostly random questions, not even related to investment banking, market or my previous internship. Initially I thought that's probably just because I've done nothing finance related so the interviewer chose to exclude the technical questions, but then everyone else had the more or less similar experience. The interviewer was really nice though. I felt kinda clueless during the interview.

Applied through campus fair. Basic interview process. Phone interview during which they stepped through your resume and asked questions about the programming language on there or project you did. Half of the phone interview was technical(classic C++ interview questions, sorting algorithms, navigating a linked list). Half was behavioural( What classes are you taking, How do you balance work and school etc)

    Interview Questions
    • Nothing really stood out that you don't see on C++ interview prep websites. How to tell if a linked list is circular threw me for a loop but I recovered fast enough. Explain the mergesort algorithm   View Answer

    AML Analyst/Desk Investigator Interview

Went through a staffing agency and did an in-person interview. Interviewed with the manager of the department. She basically said that all her employees were contractors who were laid off previously. She made it seem she keeps on rehiring them on an 'as needed' basis. So no permanent hire/no benefits. That was a red flag for me, which cause my disinterest to the position. A few situation/behavior questions, AML related. I didn't feel comfortable with the interview because the manager was making odd mean-like faces. She was also talking about the position in a threatening manner. Like they (her and another off site manager) can tell if your good for the position within a week. I took it as, they monitor your process for a week, and if your not up to par the will let you go. IDK, to me, an interviewer should make you want to work there, make you jump at the opportunity. Not tell you about the negatives of how the dept is and look at you like you're automatically not up to par. Oddly Negative Experience.

I applied through college or university. The process took a dayinterviewed at Bank of America in December 2014.

    Interview Details

First round was back to back 20 minute phone interviews. The first interview was a bit technical. They asked for a stock pitch and which side of S&T I was interested in. The second interview was very conversational with a few behavioral questions. They asked me what classes I took and why I'm specifically interested in S&T. Programming knowledge is a plus.

The interviewing process was straight forward and the questions and time allowed to respond was perfect. The interviewing manager was prepared with questions that were business specific, transitioned to allow the flow of interview to go smoothly.

Took the assessment test after applying online. That assessment test is pretty detailed and somewhat intense. It will take the 60 to 90 mins they declare it will take. Recommend to take it with no interruptions.
