Sales and Service Specialist at Bank of America

Accepted Offer – Reviewed Apr 20, 2013

Interview Details – First, apply through the website. You will then receive in your email an electronic test assessing your cash handling and risk assessment skills. Complete this test in one go, or you will have a great challenge getting through to anyone in HR who can let you back into the test again. If you pass the test, you will go through a phone interview with a HR representative who works from their home. After you have passed this screening, you will meet with a manager (either of the banking center to which you applied, or the banking center that will train you) for an interview.

Interview Question – Where do you see yourself in a few years?   View Answer

Negotiation Details – HR informs you by phone and email that you have been offered a position. The salary they offer you is non-negotiable and often well below what you may expect. Asking for more may actually offend the HR representative. I have heard from female associates that asking for more money almost universally results in push-back.

Sales and Service Specialist at Bank of America

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in El Paso, TX Apr 2010 – Reviewed Nov 23, 2012

Interview Details – Interviwing Process was wonderful. Received an excellent service from the recuirter and support from my at that time future banking center. Emails and calls were all the time prompt. Once I had the interview with the banking center they called the day after to let me know the decision. The recruiter made sure I understood everything.

Interview Question – My starting position was as a teller so the interview was very traditional. They asked for cases, my worst situation, they were concentrated on my personality. The were very proactive for all my extracurricular activities I had at that time. School is something BCM's are not that flexible, you have to keep an open mind with that. But the pay is well well worth it   Answer Question

Sales & Service Specialist at Bank of America

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Chicago, IL Feb 2011 – Reviewed Jun 28, 2012

Interview Details – Once the application is reviewed and requirements are met, the human resources representative/recruiter calls for a phone interview. For new hires, the human resources representative calls to ask the applicant questions and determines if they meet the qualifications to have the phone interview, which they schedule for a later time with a recruiter. For existing associates, the recruiter calls for a short phone interview. Once the phone interview is complete, for both new hires and existing associates, an in-person interview is scheduled with the manager of the location (branch) that was applied to. After the in-person interview is complete, the manager may or may not follow up with the applicant to ask follow up questions. Many times these questions are scenario based, where the applicant decides what to do in any given scenario. If the applicant is considered for hire, the recruiter will call the applicant - usually within 2 weeks- to make an offer. If the offer is accepted, the applicant and recruiter determine the best start date.

Interview Questions

Negotiation Details – For existing associates negotiations are difficult. If there are other applicants willing to work for less, many times the recruiter will tell you this and you may have to go with what the recruiter is offering. For existing associates, a promotion usually indicates only a 10% increase from the current salary.
