I applied online – interviewed at Bankers Life.

    Posted my resume on monster.
We had a group presentation to introduce the job requirements to the 12 candidates.
Then we were asked to follow up if we thought the job was for us.

I got to the place thinking I was going to have a one-on-one interview. I was surprised by being part of a group interview.

The Brand Agent gave us a presentation, poor presentation for my taste, to explain the duties of the job.

The first interview was a group interview and just explained the company and what they are looking for. The seconed interview was one on one and was basically me asking all the questions. Then they ask you if you want to be apart of the company. They said it would be about a month before I would be getting paid.

    Reasons for Declining

I need to be starting a job sooner than a month. Because currently not working I don't have the money to get the certification(2 weeks) and can't afford to go any longer without a job.

Branch manager was a seemingly trustworthy person and we hit it off well. However, I chose not to take the opportunity because of 100% commission and likely spending a lot of time and effort before making any money.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 daysinterviewed at Bankers Life in February 2015.

    Interview Details

The hiring and interview process at Banker's Life is broken down to 3 steps. The first is basically a cattle call with a generic PowerPoint, although the recruit implied it would be a one on one interview. The second was a video explaining the companies products in very little detail. The final step is a "interview" with a Branch Manager. I use quotes around interview because the only questions they asked were: Do you have reliable transportation; What motivates you; How quickly do you plan on getting your license.

    Interview Questions
    • I was told that we were not allowed to ask questions until the one on one interview. (step 3) The Branch Manager did say at the end of the PowerPoint Briefing, "If you can't handled 100% commission, don't even bother coming back."   Answer Question

The interview and hiring process seems to be pretty straight forward. If you are reasonably presentable and seem like you can relate to potential customers to make a sale, you'll get hired. And, why not? The more salespeople they have the more money they make.

    Interview Questions
    • There weren't really a lot of questions.
What motivates you? Why are you interested, etc?

Interview was great. The interviewer was kind and personable. They went over all the possibilities and made the job sound fun but realistic. All questions were covered and answered during the interview.

I applied online. The process took a dayinterviewed at Bankers Life in January 2015.

Was pretty much hounded by a few people at this company for a group interview.
Finally made for one and it was just a presentation about how much money you could make and how wonderful they treat their agents. Position was commission only.
Filled out a questionnaire and was asked if I knew anyone who would be interested in their products.
I answered "no" and was never contacted again. Pretty sure they used us to get some potential clients.

The interview is a cattle call, they had approximately 25 people there and went on and on about the company and how the market is moving toward the older people. You had to stay there listening to all of this before you would get an actual interview. I did not stay, there must be a reason they pull so many people in at one time, seemed like they have a large turnover in employees.
