    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ monthsinterviewed at Barclays (London, England (UK)) in April 2015.

    Interview

This was for a role in the PCB (or UKRBB) division of Barclays. There were: 3 interviews, an online personality questionnaire, credit/DBS/residency/citizenship checks. 1st Interview - Telephone based by one of the resourcing team, following a strict, set script. Asked about job and salary expectations, and lasted about 20 minutes. Online personality test - 50 multiple-choice questions; lasted about 30 minutes. No time limit. 2nd Interview - Competency based; Face to face with 2 Directors in 1 Churchill Place, lasted 60 minutes. Very friendly and structured. 3rd Interview - Biographical interview; Face to face with 1 Directors & 1 MD in 1 Churchill Place, lasted 3 hours. Despite the length, it didn't seem long. Lots of probing but fair questions; again, friendly & welcoming. Answered my questions directly. Offer was made a week after the final interview.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeksinterviewed at Barclays (London, England (UK)) in February 2015.

    Interview

Business line interview focussing in on skills and background and the degree to which there is a match between what both sides are looking for and what's on offer. No formal evaluation took place in terms of testing qualitative or quantitative ability. The interview was simply a discussion based around competencies.

    Interview Questions

    • Identify the biggest weakness in my self and how to overcome that weakness.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

Negotiating phase has been biggest stumbling block - simply because the process is pitiful, not because they were not prepared to negotiate. HR has no authority to negotiate salaries but are in charge of negotiations... Go figure!

As the market was strong, just 1 interview was required. Quite a number of key questions, but focused on previous technical work. Interview was straightforward with 2 on the panel. Did not need to have a 2nd interview as the role was for contract work.

Interview is competency based you get the four or five questions area before hand so think of possible questions based on them and you be. Have a lot of examples helps show you know what you talking about have done it before. Only decide to write this because I found reviews and tips on here helpful so why not help future applicants.
