Application Details

I applied in-person. The process took 1+ week - interviewed at Bed Bath & Beyond in October 2013.

Interview Details

I applied online through a job search engine. I got an email response asking that I come in. I then filled out a hard copy application and had my first interview. (After working here for a while I realized that applying online was really just a way to get me in the door, I personally assume that the email response is sent out to everyone who applies online. As a company or so I've been told they try to give everyone a chance "They are always hiring.") I had my second interview that same day with a different manager. I was contacted the next day to set up the third interview with the store manager. I was hired within a week or 2.

Negotiation Details
You are somewhat able to negotiate pay and flexibility of hours. I am a college student and don't work many hours and they are very flexible about that. Also when I originally applied I had a second job and they were willing to work around it.

I submitted my application and notified them I would be on vacation the following week. As soon as I came back I was called in for an interview. It was a one on one interview with two separate managers. The questions were very easy, generic questions you'd expect to be asked. I'm pretty sure I got a call with the job offer the next day or the day after.

There is no negotiation. You get very low wages and they expect way too much out of you,

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Bed Bath & Beyond in April 2014.

    Interview Details

I applied on snagajob.com and heard back within two weeks. I was called for an interview, went in two days later, he asked me to show up early to fill out a paper application. Then a manager met with me, we talked for about 15minutes about my previous positions and what this position would entail. Then he told me that he would get back to me when the store manager was available to interview me. The few questions he asked were normal, like why do you want to work here, what did you do at (a previous job), and if I had any questions for him.

I did not negotiate, but i should have. Your starting wage will not change much for the time employed there. There raises are a joke, so don't be afraid to ask for a good starting wage.

I gave my application in person, within a few days they contacted me for an interview. Interview was about 30 minutes. A few typical interview questions and the rest was random chitchat. Very easy. He made it seem obvious that I was going to be hired but didn't get a call till a few days later. Interview was mostly about getting to know me personally. They really like cheerful people.

I called at the right time and got the head store manager. He was extremely nice and had a professional appearance. The interview was very informal and relaxed and general questions were asked. He made it seem like I was not wasting his time which made the interview so much easier and less stressful.

I feel a little underpaid because I was afraid to ask for a higher starting salary. Dont be afraid to be aggressive as the worst they can say is no and negotiate a lower salary. Overall the negotiation phase was not anything intense and was very laid back.

When I applied to BBB, they seemed eager to meet me. The interview was brief and before I knew it they were scheduling me before I was actually hired...needless to say, it's a very easy job to get so long as you're a normal, respectable human being.
