The interview process was lacking compared to many other Best Buy competitors. However, Savannah's Best Buy is notorious for rude and uncaring management. They drag out the process, and just when you think you are getting somewhere...you get nothing. I will say, however, that I interviewed in Washington,DC and it was a much smoother process. I was interviewed on the phone first, then the SAME DAY the manager called me back and said that he wanted me to come in for an interview the NEXT DAY, and then, I was offered a position. Much more professional than Savannah's store.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Best Buy in December 2007.

    Interview Details

Submitted an offer online, was called and asked to come in for an interview. I was told to fill out a secondary application inside of another room. Interviewer finally showed up nearly a half hour after my scheduled time. She did not shake my hand or greet me, and made no eye contact whatsoever. She looked over my application, and asked questions about my employment history. She was very unfriendly about it. After a few minutes of that, she said they may call me in a week or so and had me leave. Very unnerving experience - interviewer made me feel like I was wasting her time before she had the chance to meet me. Did not ask about my qualifications. Her only questions were my history.

There were three interviews. The first two were with Ass. Managers and the third with the General manager. Was asked questions such as "Sell this pen to me." Also, asked questions related to computer repair, such as, "How would you describe to Grandma that her hard drive has a corrupted sector and is in need of repair?"

There really wasn't any negotiation. I was hired at $10 an hour for the Geek Squad, setting up new computers and doing repair.

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 days - interviewed at Best Buy in February 2010.

I was lucky to have a cool interviewer, he was not uptight and was very human, this made me very comfortable. I think I may have slipped up on a question or two, but he saw that I had a lot of good qualities and overlooked them. I tend to think of interviewers as inhuman, but this was not the case. I have my last interview today, hopefully all goes well.

Applied for the job online. Interview was fairly smooth. First interview was with the DCI and services manager. Final interview was with the store manager. Asked questions like, "Why, specifically do you want to work for BB and not some other electronics retailer (aka Frys)?"

I applied online. The process took 1 week - interviewed at Best Buy in September 2012.

    Interview Details

I received a call a few days after posting my application online and was asked to have a phone interview. The lady that called me asked me about my availability, whether I applied to any other stores, and so on. After it was done, I was scheduled for an interview that was held two days later. On the day of my one-on-one interview, I was greeted by a Geek Squad manager and was lead to the music room to begin my interview. He gave me paperwork with a list of agreements about the interview and the potential job I was applying for. After glancing through a couple of pages of my online application, he asked me a couple of basic questions. At the end, he described to me that the position I was applying for was full at the moment but the management is seeking potential workers to fill the spot when the current workers are promoted. He also noted that I will receive a call within 30 days if I was selected for the second interview. I was very nervous and tensed up as it was my first job interview but he tried to create a friendly and casual environment to ease me a bit.

Applied online after 3 days got a call for a phone interview after that got schedule for interview with manager then got schedule interview with general manager pretty much he/she is the one that is going to hire you. Interview question was basic they ask why you want to work at bestbuy stuff like that nothing too hard they are just looking for someone that can fit in and has customer service skills. Technical questions in the interview are basic stuff like whats a virus or what is memory (ie, rams) when explaining use it in non technical way. Remember not all customer will know what you are talking about, so stick with the basic words and terms. One more thing, you got to have a flexible schedule since I was a part time student taking classes at night my schedule was super flexible

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Best Buy in June 2009.

    Interview Details

I was called when they reviewed my application and they asked me to come in for an interview. The day of the interview was a mass-interviewing day. I was dressed fairly nicely and some other people being interviewed were not. I had three separate interviews for my decision. I was offered the job by the third interviewer, the store manager. I briefly spoke with the Geek Squad manager, and he asked me if I played videogames.
