I applied online. The process took 1 day – interviewed at Best Buy (Calabasas, CA) in June 2015.
I applied for a few positions at different Best Buys, im 19 years old and have had a few jobs before but this is a job i've wanted for a long time. i had a different interview at another location that was farther and i got the job as a Mobile Sales associate but i had my eye on my local best buy, i get a call directly from the GM asking for me to come in the next day. i come to the interview wearing a nice dress shirt and pants with a pair of Louboutins ( lol i know but they are nice) there was a fellow next to me waiting for an interview and he was just dressed as an average joe (what???) for some reason his interview lasted 5 minutes. I go in with the GM and she was very nice, let me sit in the nice chair as she sat in a regular plastic one. i share a little bit of my background with her as she does as well. i had originally applied for a inventory specialist but i asked about doing some type of electronic sales because thats my specialty, i know everything tech! the interview was lasting a good 15-20 minutes and i was thinking in my head that i did pretty good but i probably wouldn't be getting the job based on her questions. She just offers me a position in Computer Sales and i immediately accept! i start this Wednesday and im super excited! Cheers!

I applied in-person. The process took 3+ weeks – interviewed at Best Buy (Bakersfield, CA) in June 2015.
I went to a job fair where they just told me to apply online so I went home and applied that day. In about 3-4 days I got a phone call where they did a short 10-15 minute interview. Nothing extreme just basic questions about myself. She then offered an interview for the following week. Showed up and was told to stand by the front doors where I waited for an hour. They were "running behind". When I got to the interview I knew why. The guy interviewing me was obnoxious. He was texting and calling his friends on his cell phone the whole time and barely paid attention to my answers or even seemed interested. Took about 30 minutes it was very detailed and scripted. He was filling in the answers he could remember, if he was texting he would ask me to repeat when he was finished with his seemingly more important matters. I left and didn't expect a call back nor did I think I wanted one. I got a call about a week later asking me to come to a third interview where I was then offered the position.
Was asked if I wanted to negotiate pay but I declined and agreed on $9.50/hour.

I applied online. The process took 2 days – interviewed at Best Buy (Brooklyn, NY) in June 2015.
Took me about 2 weeks to get the interview after applying online. Once that was out of the way, the interview process was easy. Met with a manager and then got the second interview the next day with the GM.

I applied online. The process took 1+ week – interviewed at Best Buy (West Lebanon, NH) in June 2015.
Initially applied online, no other way to do it. After two weeks, finally got asked in for an interview. Asked the standard questions, easy interview by the Operations Manager. he had said that I would get a second interview from the manager, but a week later I received a form letter for rejection. I requested Full time. I am pretty sure this was why I did not get a call back. They start part time employees at 6 hour shifts. and like it that way.

I applied online. The process took a week – interviewed at Best Buy (Germantown, MD) in June 2015.
I was contacted two days after applying online to come in for a group interview. There group interview consisted of about 20 other applicants. Lasted about two hours. It was very informal, consisted of "memory" games and introducing yourself and listing your favorite car, cereal, and cartoon. Three one-on-one interviews followed over the course of about a week. One with head of customer service. Second with head of sales. Final with general manager.

Overall, this was an easy interview process. Was asked scenario questions about my experiences. Very straightforward interview. It is a two interview process, one with the manager for the position and one with the General Manager.

I applied online. The process took 2+ weeks – interviewed at Best Buy (Tampa, FL) in May 2015.
I applied online on May 8th, on the 12th I received a call to setup an interview on the 14th. First Interview was with the Assistant Store Manager. I waited in the Home Theater and Surround Sound for him as I arrived early. Act casual and small talk on the way to the room for the interview. "Busy today?" or just something to start building a social rapport right of the bat. We sat down in the front office and we finished the conversation we were having on the way to the room. He then asked about my previous experience and fortunately he was an Ex-IT Industry so me being someone who knew a lot of about computers and who builds them I was able to start up a conversation about them. I let him ask the standard background experience questions and after a few I then asked him "Whats it like back there in computers this time of year(Economical Climate is seasonal based where I live). When I told him I was ex-technical support and when he mentioned He was IT also I asked him about what he did before best buy also! The in between small talk shows you can star and hold a conversation! This is important! He said that most people come in here that just answer the questions with a bunch of awkward silence in between the interview. Availability is something he also said would push me on to the next interview. In retail at Best But Open or Nights and Weekend availability will get you that second interview! Show you are charismatic and friendly! After everything was done he said "We'll be in touch over the next couple of days". 3 or 4 days later I received a call to schedule my 3rd interview with the Store Manager on the 19th. Same process as before come in and wait. Small talk on the way to the backroom for an interview. Engaging conversation as before. Ask them about the company and the atmosphere before they ask you! Show you are interested in working there! We spent a good 45 minutes talking about something totally unrelated about computers. But when we got back to the essential interview he told me that "We would probably extend you a job offer, and I'll talk it over with the other store manager to see if we think you'll be a good fit." He then asked about salary expectations and other things. On May 21st I received my Job Offer Email and began my first day on the 24th!

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks – interviewed at Best Buy (Tuscaloosa, AL) in May 2015.
Applied online and after 10 days i got call for job interview. First they interview over phone and ask basic question about your availability. Once you go through you will set up for interview with sales supervisor. It is easy. Prepare for different job example and what would you do in this situation. They told me you will get another call for third interview or email if you did not pass 2nd interview. Waited a week and i call them to see where the process has been and was told you will get call or email in 2 days. As normal, if you keep calling your chances should raise but in my case i think it turn other way. I called 3 days later again and was told they are still doing interview with other applicant and then they will decide whom to move forward. Same day in 15 min later i checked online and they put my job status to no longer consider. I think because i called them 2 times and they feel annoy which did surprise to me. On phone, it was told still doing interview and haven't decided anything but 15 mins later decision has been made. Really? I feel like they want people who won't ask question while at work as well. After first interview, they waited another 10 days. As per HR, you should get answer within 3 days or 4 days so people can not wait for answer and keep looking for job.

I applied in-person. The process took 4 days – interviewed at Best Buy (Chicago, IL) in May 2015.
Simple sit down at the Magnolia center area. Not too much pressure at all. We sat down and talked for about two hours. Lots of questions asked but nothing too crazy. I got to ask questions about the interviewer. Very calm but efficient interview. Got to meet some Home Theatre Sales associates afterwards seems like a very pleasant place to work.
