I applied online and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at Best Buy in June 2009.

Interview Details – Interview made me wait 20 minutes in the lobby when I showed up on time. Questions were weird and didn't really pertain to computer work.

The process took 1 week - interviewed at Best Buy in September 2011.

Interview Details – I did an online interview/application, then got called for an interview with a hiring manager, which was just a basic interview with basic interview type questions. They told me to wait for a call within the next week, and a few days later they called and I scheduled an interview with the GM. I am just about to go to that interview so I will let you know how it turns out.

I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Best Buy in September 2009.

Interview Details – I applied online and took their personality test (they call it the first interview). I got a call the very next day to interview with the Geek Squad manager basically discussing my experience and how I would function in a team and group environment. I got called back for a third interview with the store GM. This time it consisted of mostly customer service questions.

I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Best Buy in September 2011.

Interview Details – I applied online and waited for about a week to receive a phone call. I was scheduled for an interview with one of the assistant managers. This interview consisted of a lot of general questions (experience, other jobs, education, certifications, etc.) since they were not part of the Geek Squad. They asked a couple of computer related questions, but I don't think they knew what the answers were anyway. After that interview they said they would decide and call later for a second interview. I was called and scheduled for a second interview with the general manger. They asked more questions that were along the same line as the first, but also included questions about theft and working with others. After that they said they would call if I was selected.

I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Best Buy in May 2011.

Interview Details – I was interviewed on the phone and with one manager. She told me I was interviewing for sales floor. I stated I had no sales experience, she made it seem like that was a-ok.

After I got to the general manager, he asked me semi-technical questions relating to selling computers, which I did fine at since they were fairly simple. However, after he actually looked at my application, he saw I actually applied for the Geek Squad and not sales floor.

The fact it took them this long to figure out what position I applied for blew my mind.

They also looked at my previous address information, I assume -- the first girl that interviewed me on the phone made sure I was actually living in CA, and not Pennsylvania like I previously was. Confused me for a minute but I understood their issue later on...

I applied online and the process took 2 days - interviewed at Best Buy in May 2010.

Interview Details – Initial interview was with an employee with a management position, later to be interviewed by the manager of the store himself. The first interview basically processed why I had applied to the position and why I had chosen Best buy. The interviewer seemed to be very positive and light-hearted, help lightening the atmosphere to an almost casual feel.

When meeting for the second interview with the store manager, it was a bit overwhelming as he was a bit more straight forward and proceeded reviewing the resume, and asking what activities I participated in outside of the workplace.

I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Best Buy in July 2011.

Interview Details – I applied for this job online at certain location and when I got a call from the HR about an interview they sent me to a store that I didn't apply for. This still didn't seem like a problem though because I really wanted a job working around computers. Walking into the store for the interview the employees seemed nice and the work environment seemed like a good one. The managers were a little behind on interview so I had a chance to review my good answers to any question asked. When I met the manager I shook his hand firmly like an person wanting a job should do. I came in and he seemed relaxed at the time. He handed me a paper to sign off on an interview, which I never have seen before but I initialed like I am supposed to do. Then it was down to business with the questions, so upon questioning I remained eye contact with him. During questioning he seemed more nervous than me. He was jumpy and didn't remain eye contact with me and asked me the same question in different wording several times. He asked me questions and to elaborate and I did, but he never marked down my full response. I showed him a CCNA Course completion document and my resume along with my graduation date from school and he looked like he really didn't want someone with this much skills in computers. Bottom line if you are a good computer trouble shooter don't waiste your time this job is more for a sales rep.
