Accepted Offer – Interviewed in San Francisco, CA Nov 2010 – Reviewed Nov 21, 2010
Interview Details – I did not apply via campus recruiting. A family friend circulated my resume through the NY office and they contacted me saying that they no longer had any positions open for the NY group but they would keep me in the loop if something opened up. They contacted me 3 days later and asked me if I wanted to set up a time to have a phone interview with someone in the SF group. The phone interview was supposed to be around 30 minutes, but lasted for about 50 and was entirely fit. I walked through my resume, my interest in BlackRock, my interest in asset management and my interest in fixed income. The interview went well and I was invited to a SuperDay in the SF office. The interview process in SF consisted of 4 (approximately) 30 minute 1:1 interviews, with of a mix of fit questions, brainteasers and questions about current events in the markets. I met with VP's and Directors. Everyone was extremely nice and it was a very laid-back experience. The interview was on a Friday and I was contacted the next Monday with the offer.
