Interview Details –
I submitted a resume and cover letter. About two weeks later, I received an email from HR asking me to schedule a phone interview with them. I did so, and three weeks later I was interviewed for about 15 minutes by a very nice HR contact. The process was painless, straightforward. The contact was friendly and I enjoyed conversing with her. Unfortunately, I stumbled on "tell us something about yourself?" I've (surprise!) never been asked this easy question before and my answer simply wasn't as good as it could have been. At least I learned something from the experience, but I feel like this will put me out of the running for the next round of interviews that take place at the NYC HQ.
Questions were basic:
Tell me something about yourself.
Tell me how your sales experience will help you in a future sales position at Bloomberg.
Tell me the most interesting news story in the markets right now.
What do you know about this position?

had a 1st round phone interview with HR, asked simple questions about resume, why Bloomberg, 3 qualities of a salesperson
2nd round super day in their amazing office, 2 1/2 hour interviews one-on-one, no technical questions, all behavioral, and walking through resume, asked why bloomberg, how do you stay up to date on financial news, how do you deal with difficult situations/teamwork
didn't make the next round
Interview Question – how do you deal with difficult personalities Answer Question

Interview Details – This is a no big deal interview..if you go over questions that you find here on glassdoor ur good! Only thing that I can advise you is to ask questions!!! That was the reason why i didn't go to the next round. I was prepared to ask questions on an actual 1-1 interview but apparently you have to ask some basic questions to hr personnel as well even though they have no clue about finance.

Interview Details – Initial phone interview was very short, just wanted me to run through my resume and explain why I wanted to work for Bloomberg. Was contacted a few days later and invited to the NYC office for a group interview with about 50 other kids. I interviewed with 2 people for 30 minutes each and was mainly asked behavioral questions (how would you deal with this situation, tell me about a time you failed, etc.) but also asked to explain the 2008 financial crisis and what was currently going on in the market. Thought it went well but didn't get an offer

Interview Details – The phone interview was 20 minutes long and pretty straightforward. The interviewer asked me about myself and we briefly went over my resume--standard stuff. The last part of the phone interview consisted of me asking questions and the interviewers telling me more about bloomberg. The second round was on campus and was a fit interview also standard stuff. It was a 2 to 1 interview. Since this position leads to product sales after spending a year in analytics, the interviewer asked me about sales experiences I had. Make sure you understand that analytics for bloomberg is not data crunching, but customer support where you are assisting customers.

Interview Details – This was a first round 15 minute phone interview. It was basic fit format. I was asked to talk about myself and one company's stock that I found interesting to follow this week. We finished the interview with my questions about Bloomberg and the program. I have been offered a second round interview taking place next week.

Interview Details – I applied to the Bloomberg Sales & Analytics program in late August and was contacted to set up a phone interview the next week. The phone interview was very brief with a pretty standard set of questions (personal background, why bloomberg, why finance, why sales, etc.). The next day I was invited to a morning event at Bloomberg HQ in Manhattan. This event consisted of two back-to-back thirty minute interviews, along with a tour of the facilities and a presentation on the Bloomberg Terminal. Overall, I thought the people I met were nice if a bit impersonal. My interview questions were mostly sales-related: what's most important in being a salesperson, how would you deal with demanding clients, etc. They also asked about what my ideal position would be and what my dream company would be besides Bloomberg. I'm always a little confused by this type of question because it's like I'm interviewing with you, why are you asking me about other companies/positions? I thought the interviews went well but I didn't end up being asked back for a final round. After the morning session, certain candidates were called forward and told they would have a final round interview that afternoon. Everyone else was told, "We'll be in touch," and it was pretty easy to figure out at that point that it was done. Basically, I thought this turn of events was quite abrupt. The senior salespeople conducting the interviews were meeting candidates non-stop during the time between my interview and the call for final rounds and I can't really fathom how they had time to sit and think and make their decisions. I kind of think that everything's based off their first impression of you. Overall, this left me a little put off about their whole process. It doesn't seem like that much thought goes into it honestly, but I suppose at a big company like Bloomberg, they have to move quickly.
