Retail Merchandiser, Support Specialist, Part-Time Interview

Retail Merchandiser, Support Specialist, Part-Time
King of Prussia, PA

I applied online and the process took 4 days - interviewed at Bloomingdale's in March 2013.

Interview Details – I applied online. I was contacted for an interview within four days. Each interview before mine was only 15 minutes long. My interview lasted a bit longer, before I had a lot of questions. I was told that I would hear back and be notified if I would move on to the next phase of the interview with the design team. I was notified within a couple of days and had a second interview.

Merchandising Support Associate Interview

Merchandising Support Associate
King of Prussia, PA

I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Bloomingdale's in November 2010.

Interview Details – I had an interview with a manager for a part-time Merchandising Support Associate which, by the online job description, is a stock person. I was asked very general questions about my past/current work experience and if I had any retail experience. I do have about three years retail experience. I answered all questions thoroughly and the interviewer and I engaged in general conversation. Although, it struck me odd that he felt the need to mention how the job was very physical and it would involve standing and walking. I am plus-sized and I feel that he took one look at me and decided, NO. At the end of the interview I was advised that he was screening applicants and that he and the HR Coordinator would make decisions and give calls back to individuals that were to move on to the next interview. No sooner than I arrived home I got an e-mail from them stating that they did not have a position that matches my experience and skill set. Really, what kind of experience do you need to work in a stock room and replenish goods to the floor? All in all, I was sized up from the door and he apparently didn't think that I was fit for this job that I am extremely overqualified for.
