I applied through a recruiter. The process took a weekinterviewed at Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association in September 2014.

    Interview Details

Contacted by the recruiter and took them another week to set up the interview with the client. There is no phone interview, directly face 2 face interview. Interview questions was not that difficult, co workers are very friendly.they know what they are asking ,not like some other company asking question from google.

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association in July 2014.

    Interview Details

I first received a call from the recruiting department who asked me some basic qualification questions. After a conversation with recruiting, a phone interview was scheduled to speak with the department manager and a few employees. After the telephone interview, recruiting called later that day to schedule an on-site interview (I live out of state and the company paid for round trip airfare, a rental car, hotel, and lunch). The on-site interview took about 5 hours, but it was very laid back and included meeting other employees, lunch, practice assessment, and a tour of Columbia.

It was very cookie cutter, they contract all their recruiting for technical roles, so it's all questions you have heard before. Office was nice, multiple interviewers, felt intimidating at first... But literally just a same old interview.

Although BCBSA has a "strategic recruiting" framework, the interview process does not seem to impact the decision very much. Most people get hired because they are the right place and right time but most importantly - they know the right person.

When you first apply, you will be scheduled for a test based on the position. If you pass the test look to be scheduled for and interview. This may take weeks or months, it depends on when they are ready to hire people. If you get a interview they will call you if hired. You can always call and get a update. If you pass the test and not hired your score will stay on file. You will not have to take the test again. if you fail you will have to wait 6 months to retest.

Two interviews. One with HR. She seemed very uninterested and drilled me with robotic questions. She was older (I was way younger) and appeared to be judgemental and it really seemed to bother her that I was leaving my previous employment in pursuit of a new one. But because I passed all of the pretests with flying colors, she had no choice but to pass my resume on to the hiring manager. The second interview was with the hiring manager. She was extremely friendly and had an awesome personality.

I applied through college or university – interviewed at Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.

An on campus recruiter lead the first interview round. He asked general behavioral and background questions. He did most of the talking, explaining seemingly insignificant things about the company. When I talked it didn't seem like he was trying to listen or build a conversation. Overall, this interview turned me off and I rescinded my application.
