    Interview

Phone interview first, this was pretty casual, covered what was on my resume. Interviewed with a couple people, very scripted not much discussion. Very behavior based questions, give me an example of a time when... You never heard from the people you interviewed with again, since they weren't in HR they were accounting managers.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 daysinterviewed at CBRE (Brea, CA) in June 2015.

    Interview

The interview went really well. I interviewed with 2 managers and it wasn't very long with either one of them and the questions were very conversational, not your classic interview style. I asked a lot of questions and volunteered some important details about my skill set that wasn't on my resume.

    Negotiation

It was easy because I accepted the offer right away. I am super excited to work for the company.

I applied online. The process took 2+ weeksinterviewed at CBRE in May 2015.

    Interview

I applied online though the website and within a week or 2 they called to set up an interview. I went in to interview and met with 2 managers at the corporate office. The interview was about 25 minutes and they asked basic questions: strengths, how I problem solve, words to describe myself, etc. At the end of the interview, they said they really liked me but with the salary cap on the position they didn't think they could afford me. They were right since the salary capped at $35,000 annually.

Spoke with the HR recruiter and never received a follow up call. I was under the impression the HR recruiter would call back. I am assuming it is because I have no Indesign experience?

    Interview

Applied and was quickly contacted by internal recruiter. I was then scheduled for an in person interview with hiring manager, before having a Skype interview with corporate VP. Process was smooth, but takes a few weeks to complete. Everyone in the process was friendly and explained the next steps in hiring process clearly.

    Financial Analyst Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in San Diego, CA
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeksinterviewed at CBRE (San Diego, CA) in April 2015.

    Interview

The entire process was extremely respectful. I was not treated like a faceless candidate at any point during the interview process. Questions mostly focused on my previous experiences in my past role, and how they could be an asset to the new role. I was able to ask whatever questions I wanted, and the interviewers were perfectly transparent on the expected learning curve, hours worked, flexibility, etc.. Be warned: you will be asked to prove your knowledge of Excel.

    Interview Questions

    • I wasn't asked any of the boilerplate HR questions (e.g. what's your greatest weakness, why should we hire you first, etc.). All four interviews (phone screen, phone interview, in-person interview #1, in-person interview #2) focused on my future goals and my experience in my previous role. It seems that CBRE is built on organic growth, so personality, clarity of communication, and brainpower are all paramount, as opposed to your reaction to stress questions and "What can you offer to us that someone else cannot?", etc.. The entire process was enjoyable, and it became clear that the position was a near-perfect fit as the interview process progressed.   1 Answer

    Negotiation

I negotiated the base salary successfully.

    Interview

Interview process was quick, friendly. Only had to make an appearance once. The only part that took a while was doing a formal application through the website, and going through all the steps of the hiring process. (Typical).

    Real Estate Services Coordinator Interview

    Anonymous Interview Candidate
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online – interviewed at CBRE.

    Interview

I submitted an application to the online portal. I received a call several days later from the Associate Director who let me know that there was a part-time position available if I would like to consider it. She mentioned it would be a good place to start with the company without any commercial real estate experience, and I would be able to move into a full-time role as one opened up.
The manager at an onsite property called me to come in and meet. It was a very laid-back interview with just general work experience questions.

    Interview Questions

    • What has your experience been in the customer service industry? How do you handle difficult customers?   1 Answer

    Negotiation

There was no room for negotiation. The hourly rate was already set and she let me know before I came in to make sure it would be something I could agree to.
