Inside Sales Account Manager Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at CDW.
Interview Details – After speaking with an HR representative on the phone and being asked many behavioral-type questions, I was then offered an interview at an office with a sales manager. I met with someone who showed me around the building first, and then prepared me for the interview by answering questions and giving me expectations for the interview. I then met with the manager, who was laid back and asked me more behavioral type questions.
Interview Question – The manager noticed I had changed professions and industries, so he asked me why I decided to leave the industry I was in for a job in sales. View Answer

Program Manager, Healthcare Interview (Negative Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through an employee referral - interviewed at CDW in February 2011.
Interview Details – The process up to meeting with the hiring supervisor went pretty smoothly. An HR phone interview and then I met with the team in person, which also went well. When I showed up for the F2F meeting, the hiring director was in the wrong location (downtown while I was in the suburbs). Took a while to reschedule due to her schedule and when we finally met, it did not go well.
Interview Question – Tell me how you would go about putting together a Marketing Strategy given that you've never worked in the industry? Answer Question
Project Manager Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through college or university - interviewed at CDW in October 2012.
Interview Details – I applied via my school's career services office. After completing the lengthy online application I was offered a phone interview a week later. It lasted about 30 minutes and the interviewer sounded fairly young. This was my ever first phone interview and I feel my nervousness came through clearly. I was given a response the following Monday.
Interview Question – A time you learned from a mistake? Answer Question
Solutions Manager Services Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through a recruiter and the process took 5 weeks - interviewed at CDW in January 2011.
Interview Details – I had 2 phone interviews and five face to face meetings. Two with the hiring manager and three with members of the hiring manager's team. The people who I met with were professional. The work environment very energetic. The only challenge I had was that there seemed to be some confusion about the type of candidate they were looking for.
Interview Question – I don't think you have strong enough technical background to do this job. Am I correct? (This after I was told by the HR representative and the hiring manager that a technical background was not what the position required.) Answer Question
Very Easy Interview
Inside Sales Account Manager Interview (Negative Experience; Very Easy Interview)
I applied through a recruiter and the process took 2 days - interviewed at CDW in January 2012.
Interview Details – All I have to say is, if you have any type of sales experience at all and are NOT right out of college then RUN. Dont walk RUN and or dont even bother to attempt to get a job here. There base is 25k a year and you are required to cold call all day long hoping to land some accounts. The manager that hired me basically did the worst interview I have ever had. Could of chatted with him over the phone rather than waste my time going in to talk with him. This job should of been a slam dunk.......I have over 5 years of sales experience but I felt that during the interview that this manager wanted nothing to do with someone with actual experience!! Got the over qualified look plenty of times. Basically I think CDW likes to hire people to train from the ground up so they arent scared of someone with experience coming in and taking their job. Just my opionion.....
Interview Question – Why do you want to work at CDW?
Really, this was the hardest question during my interview! Kinda comical. The rest was all small talk Answer Question
