No Offer – Interviewed in Forney, TX Jun 2013 – Reviewed Jun 1, 2013
Interview Details – This interview was very detailed. It requires that you take a drug test first-hand. A friend of mine refuse and missed out on a good job. If you can pass simple tests like these, you should be fine.
Interview Question – When doing the the virtual interview, you kind of think about what you think they want to hear. If you think that way, you will not give them accurate answers. Answer Question
Accepted Offer – Reviewed May 6, 2013
Interview Details – Not the easiest application process. They had recently changed their hiring system. I applied under an older system, received a call a few days later to come in for the interview. However, Sandy occurred and I called to reschedule it, and was told only nighttime/overnight was available. I was also told to reapply on their new system. New hiring system frequently is down/crashes. Took about six attempts and it finally worked around 3am one day. I came in for the interview (figured that it was better than nothing). Evidently mis-communication occurred and the store manager didn't know I was coming so he was caught off-guard. Actual interview lasted about ten minutes. Asked a bit about my background, why I wanted to work for CVS, if I was flexible with hours, and if overnight was OK to work. Got an offer on the spot, accepted. Mandatory company training in a company office followed which was paid.I was hired on full-time, but never put for full-time status nor given many hours. Great for a first job type of thing or if are desperate. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
Negotiation Details – No negotiation. I was offered $9/hour, more than the minimum wage but definitely not enough for all you end up doing, especially if working overnight. Raises are few and far between.
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Feb 2012 – Reviewed Feb 24, 2013
Interview Details – I applied online to various intro level openings. I got a call from a store manager asking me to come in and interview. The interview lasted maybe about a half an hour. The manager told me that I interviewed well and that I would likely here back within the week. The manager implied that I would be hired (I was).
Interview Question – Give an example of a time you had to calm down an angry customer. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – The website asks you to list the salary you would like to start at. I had asked for $8, but was offered $7.60. I'm not sure if there was room for negotiation.
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in East Providence, RI Jan 2007 – Reviewed Oct 12, 2009
Interview Details – Interviews follow a script of situation and life experience based questions, followed by general Q&A and conversation based on the particular manager's style and needs. Process is different based on position, having interviewed for this company as well. I was interviewed by the Store Manager and had a follow up with another outgoing Store Manager that was still technically in-charge. For the front store you will sometimes just be interviewed by the Store Manager or but usually will be interviewed first by the Assistant Manager or as a group. Specialty positions (RX, Photo, Beauty) will usually have you interview with a department supervisor first or with the Store/Assistant Manager. Positive attention was payed to how I was dressed (shirt/tie and suit jacket) but emphasis will change with each Manager.
Interview Question – Give an example of a time when you couldn't help someone as much as you'd have liked to. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – It is a flat take it or leave it offer, contingent on the background check and if a supervisor or RX candidate, a drug test.
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Mar 2009 – Reviewed Oct 14, 2010
Interview Details – I applied online and was called about 4 days later for an interview. I was called in the middle of class and she told me the only time she could do the interview was 1:30 so i skipped class and got a ride to cvs. The woman was a shift supervisor and we chatted with each other for about 10 minutes about school and what I have done in the past. We hit it off easily so by the time she had to ask me a set of stupid questions she told me that I pretty much had the job and just had to answer some questions. She asked things like when was the last time you faced a difficult situation or helped a friend in need? After the questions we went over shift availability and salary and she asked if I could start that day! I did not even have my working papers signed since I was only 17 at the time so I had to go back to school to get the thing signed by my mom. I went in the next day and me and another kid from my school were being trained on the cash register.
Interview Question – When was the last time you helped someone? Answer Question
Negotiation Details – It was my first job so I asked for $7.50 and they gave it to me based on my availability.

Interview Details – i first applied in store and was given a written application form. I filled it out at home and returned it the next day.
