I applied online. The process took 3 weeks - interviewed at CVS Health.

    Interview Details

Phone interview, then the hiring leader would decide if you would be able to have an in person interview. The phone interview was similar to a verbal job application, I was asked typical questions you would see in a written job application. Nice and cordial recruiter. Asked about my experience, pay, current pay, availability, work status, strengths, and why you would like to work at CVS.

    Senior Manager, Account Services Interview

    Application Details

I applied through an employee referral - interviewed at CVS Health in July 2014.

    Interview Details

I applied online and was contacted 1-2 weeks later by HR for a phone screen. It was identified during the initial call that I was overqualified and far out of the pay range for this role. HR spoke with the Hiring Manager and requested I come in for face to face interview anyways...promising to set me up for interviews with other departments that might be a good match at a more senior level. Went in for in-person interview the following week. Everyone was so nice - great culture...lots of excitement about the company. However, everyone I met was screening me for the original position I had applied for. There were no additional interviews for other roles as discussed. After following up with HR and the Hiring Manager a week later, I finally received a call back from HR saying "no surprise" you aren't the right fit for this role and I couldn't match you with anything else. Very disappointing at the lack of effort after I wasted an entire day interviewing.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at CVS Health.

I participated in a full day interview. I saw multiple different individuals across the company. All short, 30-45 minute conversations. I found the interviewers to be friendly, engaging, and offering support throughout the day. There were no out-of-bounds or left field questions. They were fairly standard interview questions. Why work here, etc. The company is impressive, and the HQ has a great cafeteria.

IT UI Developer Senior Analyst Interview

I applied online. The process took 2 months - interviewed at CVS Health in August 2014.

    Interview Details

This was a complete waste of my time.
I applied for this position the week of June 30. I did not get a phone call from HR until August.

On August 11th, the phone rings out of the blue with an area code I don't even recognize and no company name associated with it so I assumed it was a telemarketer and let it go to voicemail. I later realized it was an HR recruiter for CVS/Caremark. I immediately return the call, he asks can we talk for about 15 min. later this week, he specifies a day and I said OK. That day came and went, he never even called on that specified day.

Another week or so goes by, it's now August 19th, the phone rings again out of the blue from yet another area code that I'm not familiar with and no company name with it. I let it go to voicemail but this time the recruiter emails me as well. It's a different recruiter with CVS/Caremark inquiring about the same job. Apparently both of these guys are HR contractors with CVS/Caremark.

This time I was able to speak to the second HR guy about the job. He didn't ask any questions about my resume he simply asked are you able to work in the U.S. and what's your highest degree. He then tells me the hiring manager has already reviewed my resume. I inquired why are you guys just now calling me over a month later, he didn't really give me a direct answer. He also tells me the position is not in Northbrook but in Buffalo Grove which is fine by me but why wasn't the job description updated properly on the web site.

Two days later, the first HR guy sets me up with a phone interview with the "hiring leader" which took place about a week later. Come to find out it was a technical lead, not the hiring manager who interviewed me and who proceeded to grill and quiz me on technical questions about advanced levels of jQuery, CSS, and Javascript. I honestly could not answer the majority of these questions. He didn't even bother to go over my resume or look at my portfolio of design work. He also has an accent which made it difficult to understand what he was asking.

Needless to say, I did not get the job. They sent a rejection notice 3 days later. The job is also still posted.

I have been unemployed for several years now and have been struggling to keep my skills up to date with no job to give me the challenge and exposure that I really need. It really sucks to be part of the long-term unemployed my struggle continues...

    Account Manager Interview

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months - interviewed at CVS Health in October 2013.

    Interview Details

I applied for the Account Manager position twice. The first time I had a phone interview and then moved on to the in-person interview. I met with the hiring manager 1:1. I was then called back for a second interview with two other members of the team. It took over a month to receive a denial email from the recruiter. The second time I applied, which was just a month later, I went through the same process. First was the phone interview with the recruiter (the same recruiter from the first time) and then an in-person interview with two of the hiring managers. They informed me there were 7 available positions for a training class that would start in February 2014. About a week after the in-person interview, I received a call from the recruiter asking for my feedback on how I thought it went. She then told me I was one of their top candidates and asked for my patience as it was going to be a long waiting period before they would announce the job offers. Of course I was thrilled after this call and thought I had a good chance. About three weeks later I received a call from the recruiter letting me know they were no longer considering me for the position (it sounded like she was reading from a script). I was caught off guard by the denial so I later sent an email to the recruiter asking her for feedback as to why I was suddenly removed from the candidate pool. I never received any responses from the recruiter.

    Interview Questions
    • The first round of interviews were very informal. Mostly asking about my background and questions as to why I would be a good fit for the job. The second time I interviewed with two managers who read directly from a list of interview questions. They were all situational questions - "name a time when..." None of the questions were particularly hard, but they wanted specific examples for each answer.   Answer Question

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks - interviewed at CVS Health in August 2014.

I was pretty excited about this opportunity, even though the online JD was a bit vague. From what I read, I honestly thought I could be a good match for this position. There were a few items they were looking for in candidates where I knew I did not have experience, but I thought I was a really good fit for many of the other expectations. I was contacted via email by corporate HR within about a week of applying. Had a 1/2 hour interview with HR which went smoothly. They could not provide much detail about the position but noted that there would be about 10% travel to Rhode Island required which surprised me, but I was okay with it. I was contacted a few days later via email to schedule an in person interview with two team members. Upon the start of the interview it became very clear that the position posted and the actual role were totally different. I went into this interview believing I had applied for a position that managed a team (a working manager) and it turned out to not be true at all. And 50% of the creative work was PPT which was not once mentioned in the online JD or during the HR interview. Also, no travel needed. All very bizarre. Also, the first person interviewing me had received incorrect information about me from HR and clearly had not reviewed my resume prior to seeing me. The second person who interviewed me immediately asked me questions about where I lived. Clearly a HUGE HR no-no. I know that I did not interview that well for the position because I think I was really off my game after being side-swiped by all the miscommunications and misdirection. I also got a really bad vibe from the whole experience. I'm not sad that I didn't get the job.

The interview questions were professional and the entire process was impressive. I didn't get the job but it was a great learning experience for future interviews. From application to interview took about 3 weeks. Behavioral based interview questions and a summary of my experiences was the format. The individual that scheduled the interview was through and included all the information I needed.
