I interviewed through college or university. The process took 2+ weeks - interviewed at Cambridge Associates, LLC in September 2009.

    Interview Details

The first round was a 30 minute experience interview. Very casual and relaxed:all standard questions: why my university, major, past work, why Cambridge, etc.
Second round was in their Boston offices. 5 30 min interviews + lunch. Interview topics: academics, work, a case (walk-though), analyze an article and finally why Cambridge/Investment Consulting.

    Interview Questions
    • The case was about assuming the role of a university endowment and then deciding how to choose a manager, how to pick a portfolio...basically analyzing risk/return graphs.   Answer Question

I interviewed online. The process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Cambridge Associates, LLC.

    Interview Details

Submitted my resume via company website. HR was efficient and got back to me the next day and we scheduled a phone interview. The phone interview went smoothly and the nice HR lady ran through my resume as well as some questions that allowed her to know more about me.
Was then sent an email inviting me to come down for the first round interview. Started off with a presentation by the director of PRG that shared with us a broad overview of the company. It was followed by 3 rounds of interviews with the current staff as well as the HR.
I was then invited back for a second and final round of interviews the next day. (Yes the HR lady is efficient!) Was given a more detailed presentation by the same director before embarking on a case study. Case study was interesting and I think they were looking at possibly your thought process.
Once again, I got a response the next day and received an offer.

Had a phone interview with HR. Nothing difficult, 30 minutes or so.

Had interviews at the office after the first round. Most questions were behavioral questions and were quite similar. Found myself repeating my answers with different interviewers but I'm guessing they were trying to ensure consistency in the answers they were getting. Had a presentation about the company for a clearer understanding of the role and how the department fits into the company. Also had a writing sample- again, nothing difficult.
