Personal Vacation Planner Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Carnival Corporation.
Interview Details – Submitted resume, called for initial interview within 24 hours. Quite a lengthy interview for a screening type interview. Roughly 45 minutes, but a pleasant interview. I felt it was quite thorough and easy to talk to the interviewer.
Interview Question – Not so much a question, as a constant feeling that the interviewer was not sold on the job. It was apparent from the job posting that the job entails a commitment to ourbound calling to make the contacts for sales. I supposed they have people apply that do not grasp all that commitment entails, but I felt the interviewer herself felt it would not be an enjoyable job. Answer Question
Youth Counselor Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)

Interview Question – There was no unexpected questions Answer Question

Revenue Management Analyst Interview (Negative Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and the process took 3 months - interviewed at Carnival Corporation in November 2011.
Interview Details – I had to wait almost 2.5 months after I submitted my resume online to hear back from Carnival Cruise Lines. When a recruiter finally called, it was clear to me that she felt overwhelmed, but she was nice and after asking me some basic questions, she asked if I could attend a final interview at the company's headquarters the following week. On the day of the final interview, I was instructed to go to the HR department where a very tedious Excel test was administered. Then, I was taken to a conference room where I had four 30-45 minute interviews on a 1:1 basis with three different revenue managers and one senior analyst. None of the questions that were asked were difficult at all, but some of the managers were rather rude and would cut me short without letting me finish my answers. Overall, my perception of Carnival Cruise Lines changed after I was interviewed at the company's headquarters, as I was expecting Carnival to be a fun, yet highly professional corporation. However, most of the people I encountered did not seem to engage in hard work, did not hesitate to gossip about their colleagues in front of others, and had a very negative attitude that resembled that of an underachiever. I was happy that I did not get this job.
Tax Analyst Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Carnival Corporation in August 2011.
Interview Details – After submitting my resume and applying through the carnival website, I received an e-mail asking for my availability for a 30 minute phone screen. The phone screen had to be put off for one day as the recruiting manager had a meeting. The next day, we spoke over the phone. The position required more technical skills than I had, so the phone screen was cut short as the recruiting manager proceeded to interview more capable potential employees.
Interview Question – Are you proficient enough in Excel to create macros and use VLOOKUP logic? Answer Question
Beverage Coordinator Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
The process took 2 days - interviewed at Carnival Corporation in April 2011.
Interview Details – The recruiter was friendly, but had me waiting by the phone for the interview several times. She rescheduled the call twice while I was sitting by the phone waiting for the call, and it ended up being a whole day later than scheduled. The interview was short and simple. Basic Questions.
Interview Question – What are you long term goals? Answer Question
Business Analyst Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Carnival Corporation in February 2011.
Interview Details – I applied to this position through my school's career website. Then I was contacted to setup a phone interview.
I was asked a few basic questions:
why are you interested in this company? what are some of your weaknesses? can you explain a couple things on your resume?
Then I was asked a few scenario questions:
how would you go about raising profits from soda sales on a ship? if we were looking to renew a contract with coke what research would you take into account?
I thought the interviewer was friendly and was genuinely interested in what I had to say. I built a rapport with him through our interview and we had a little conversation about some topics. I got to ask him questions about some company procedures as well and the interviewer elaborated on his answers with stories, which was nice.
The next step in the process was an onsite interview. However, I was not contacted after my phone interview about the next step.
