BI Consultant Interview (Neutral Experience; Difficult Interview)
I applied through a recruiter and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Carrier in October 2011.
Interview Details – Had a telephonic and skype interview, and then face to face. The interviews were complex. Had to answer with scenarios. Interviewing manager needed real life scenarios. Asked detailed questions as well.
Marketing and Communications Intern Interview (Neutral Experience)
I applied through a staffing agency and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Carrier.
Interview Details – Had a phone interview with the HR manager and my soon-to-be manager. It was a 30-minute conversation where they asked me what I did during my spare time, what my past experience was, why I chose UTC Carrier Transicold specifically.

Mechanical Engineer Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took a day - interviewed at Carrier in April 2012.
Interview Details – Initially contacted after a career fair Interviewed with two different people from management along with one team member and the HR coordinator. The interviews were very friendly and focused of establishing what past history I had in HVAC. They had co-op paperwork ready for me after I finished the interviews. HR typically only gives you a week to get back with your decision.
Interview Question – Most of the questions I received were based on past experience. No technical questions. They may ask you to relocate to another facility that is not the same as the one you interviewed at. View Answer
Negotiation Details – They added some compensation for plane tickets for trips home over the course of the co-op. They were very kind but only gave a week or two to make the decision.
Very Easy Interview
Heating Lab Tech Interview (Positive Experience; Very Easy Interview)
I applied through a staffing agency and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Carrier in July 2011.
Interview Details – They use a recruiting service to get you in the door then you interview with the hiring manager. I actually interviewed with the cooling manager.
Interview Question – There was nothing hard about the interview my resume, work history and skills on paper did the work for me. They asked a few questions about my work history etc. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – There was none they have base offer of 15.50 an hr no benefits from them but the temp service offers medical and dental but who could afford it on 15.50 an hr.
Sales Engineer Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Carrier.
Interview Details – Recruiting at college, On-campus interview followed by sales profile interview on the phone with an outside company and then a final interview at HQ
Interview Question – Very lengthy and professional interview process. In no way did they attempt to stump or discourage any recruits. As the position is for sales, they did expect everyone to be very personable and well presented. Answer Question
Sales Engineer Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took 3 months - interviewed at Carrier.
Interview Details – Typical hiring process for college graduates: pre-screening at job fair, on-campus interviews, headquarters / regional manager interviews, then lastly local site interview
Interview Question – It mostly was pretty canned. Nothing to special or difficult Answer Question
Negotiation Details – Not much negotiation. They have a pretty set program for recent college grads.
Lead Commercial Services Supervisor Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through a recruiter and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Carrier in February 2011.
Interview Details – The interview process consisted of the initial interview at a recruiter sponsored hiring conference. After receiving positive feedback from the company I was invited to their office for an onsite interview. This consisted of meeting with the original interviewers as well as the regional manager, field supervisors, and the coordination team. Overall the atmosphere of the office was positive and it appeared as though there was an encouraging work culture. Following the onsite interview, I received a phone interview from the HR manager. A few days later I received an offer for the position via phone call from one of the managers. The salary was not negotiable and as a result I declined the offer.

Reason for Declining – Compensation wasn't the right fit.
Systems Engineer Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Carrier in October 2008.
Interview Details – 3 interview incl 1 from hr, 1 from tech manger and final on site.
Overall, the interview is smooth, hr did not ask any difficult questions. For the final on site interview, a presentation is given, and 3 different technique people asked some engineering questions in a group meeting. I got lucky that they asked a tough question to another candidate, and I think he fell. The question is: why do you want to relocate to NY, this guy said his girl friend is close to here. I don't think they are satisfied.
Engineering Interview (Positive Experience; Difficult Interview)
I applied through a recruiter and the process took 5 days - interviewed at Carrier in May 2008.
Interview Details – The company was very professional and the interview process was not lengthy. Relocation was nice and the HR representative was very accomodating as well as the company.

Intern Interview (Positive Experience; Very Easy Interview)
I applied through an employee referral and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Carrier in June 2011.
Interview Details – My uncle's friend was working at Carrier, and he helped me get the chance for this intern interview. It took less 2 weeks and I got the phone interview, after passed the phone interview I was called for on-site interview and passed it.
