I applied online. The process took a dayinterviewed at Cerner.

    Interview Details

I applied online and through their website. They responded with an Interview offer within 2 hours.
First interview was through the phone and mostly HR questions. Second interview was through Video and the interview just asked about past projects, some behavior questions, and then asked me to design a class to handle allergies. I have two more back to back interviews with them that are the final round.

    Interview Questions
    • He asked me how I handled feedback and criticism. He also asked OOP questions about designing a class for allergies.   Answer Question

I applied through a recruiter – interviewed at Cerner in December 2014.

    Interview Details

First round was a basic HR phone interview. Basic questions off your resume. Was told the next round would be technical and require you to answer health-related coding questions in whichever language you are most comfortable with. This was done online using HireVue, but interviewer lost connection about halfway through, didn't get to any coding questions (although tried to get me to walk through a language I was fairly weak at before losing connection a little into it) and most questions were behavioral and based off the resume. Just finished today so haven't heard back yet.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at Cerner.

    Interview Details

Applied through employee referral and got a reply back on same day to schedule a call for the first round. First interview was general HR interview. He went through my resume and asked questions regarding visa status, GPA, why cerner?, explain any one of the project etc.

They replied after 2 weeks to schedule a video interview with one of the technical person. Second interview was different, the interviewer first asked me questions regarding my interests and asked me to explain one of the project. I was expecting some of questions in OOPS, algorithms, data structures but he didnt asked any. Instead he asked 2 design questions which took 20 mins each. First question was -> design a class (give different methods and variables that will be used) that will provide information about the allergy of a patient. e.g. who reported the allergy(patient/doctor/relative), different symptoms of the allergy that are detected, severity, method that returns when was that allergy detected in that patient.
Second question was _. design a class that will be used to store the information of the patients visiting to the hospital.
Then he asked me which is your favorite data structure I said Binary tree. Then he asked me design a BST with CERNER as an input.

I applied online. The process took 6 daysinterviewed at Cerner.

    Interview Details

I applied online and got invited for brief phone interview with an HR worker first. This consisted entirely of behavioral questions and points about my resume. About 1 day later, I had a more comprehensive interview with one of the Software engineers over skype. I don't particularly like doing this sort of thing over the internet, but the guy was quite nice and to the point. There were a few behavioral questions here, but mostly technical. Still waiting to hear if I get to go to the next step.

    Interview Questions
    • Most of the questions asked are posted on glassdoor. I recommend not skimping over the behaviour questions though, as Cerner seems to value these more highly than other companies I have encountered.   Answer Question

I applied online – interviewed at Cerner in November 2014.

    Interview Details

I applied for the position online with my CV and cover letter. I had applied to the job about 10-14 days before I received a phone interview. I spoke to the HR representative and she mainly asked me about my experience, no behavioral questions. She also asked me about what I was expecting from the position and she told me I would find out this week whether or not I will move forward. I interviewed last Monday so I am hoping to hear back by Friday about whether or not I made it. If I make it to the next round I'll be sure to enlighten you further!

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeksinterviewed at Cerner in October 2014.

    Interview Details

The interview was a two-day process. Took us on a tour of KC, then had a 3 course meal to talk with recruiters. Very informative and relaxed, but that's where the interview starts, so ask questions. The night was on us, so we went to the Power & Light District for a beer that night. Next day were the interviews. Surprisingly laid back, with 2 interviews that were 30 minutes. Got a small tour of the campus after that and ate some lunch. All in all I had a fun experience. Good company culture.
